both of them are my fave actually. KCM is a professional singer and his high notes always gives me goosebumps, but in this show Hyeoksu really showed his serious side. woah, i'm so impressed watching him hit those high notes yet his expression seemed so calm. This battle really JJANG!!

I personally prefer kim junho's deep, husky voice. Even though he isn't really a singer, he was good at conveying emotions (somewhat exaggerated at the end bc he knew he'll lose, but funny nevertheless 😂) Both did a good job and it was a good performance. 👏

hyeoksu is the best HE DESERVE THAT OK!
I laughed the very moment Hyeoksu let that first high note rip, and couldn't stop even after the song ended. DEAD, ASS ON THE FLOOR, WRITHING AND IN TEARS.
I really like KCM but Hyeoksu won this one, because of the genre of the song, his voice suited Rock better, that rugged yet powerful tone... Man, KCM is out of his element on this one, he did a great job 👍 . One of my favorite battle in Singing battle. 🔥

KCM should have won.. psh.. close your eyes, flush out all your bias in your system and listen to them. Who sang more clearly? Who sang more comfortably? Who had more confidence?
to me, it's Kwon hyuk soo.
Heh. I'm a fan of KCM but I also like Kwon hyuk soo. he didn't imitate Kim Kyung Ho here, but actually sang the song with his own style.
the universe is fair to its creatures... If KCM could also sing rock as good as singing rhythm and blues or his own style, then would that be just too monstrous? But he is not.. KCM here sounded like a constrained wind instrument compared to Hyuk Soo's unobstructed wind passages..
So let's see.. what if the song they sang was RnB instead? Then I would say that KCM is the absolute victor. Kwon Hyuk Soo would sound like an Oboe with a factory defect that his pitch would be all over the place..
The main thing here is the song Choice. It's a rock ballad. The music and the instruments are all same as the original song.. Kwon Hyuk Soo can sing in his own voice or even imitate Kim Kyung Ho while singing rock ballads. On the other hand, KCM is somewhat a balladeer but the rock element that is supposed to be in the song simply cannot be produced by him..
If only KCM would remake this rock ballad into his own, then you people can hear the difference and figure out things I want to explain but I just doesn't have the vocabulary, and structure..
I respect KCM as a vocalist but take note of these obvious parts..
- He obtained the first point from the judges since he sang his part flawlessly
- 5:15 - 5:16 .. he should not do that in a rock song.
- 5:47 - 5:51 .. he ran out of gas there.. maybe because of his singing technique costs more air or something.
- 6:25 - 6:27 .. that little riff took a lot of effort from him. I don't know if it;s because of the song, but he can do that riff effortlessly in any other song except rock.
what more is that Kwon Hyuk Soo might have sang this song for more than a hundred times. If KCM can still beat Kwon Hyuk Soo in this performance, that is what I think is not fair.

I think KCM should have won. It's obvious that he's more stable. His low and high are both strong yet subtle and you can feel the soul he put into the song. Hyeoksu is good, but his notes are just "flashy", as in showing off the highs, but he lacks the control and the feeling. Moreover, maybe it's because he's doing so many parodies of it, but he sounds just exactly like Kyungho. Still, this is a great duet. Both did well.

im a fan of kcm because of his unique genre of music in Korea but, I would have voted for hyeksoo too, just because he realy isn't a professional singer, but still sings like one and I think the ones who voted for him also considered him not being a singer.
And.. KCM's voice really isn't fit to sing this kind of song.

Hyeoksu sounds like Kim Kyungho that's why he won... It's not about his high notes... You can make your version in IS2 but for Singing Battle, I believe the more you sound like the original, the more points you get...

the song is rock and not ballad. KCM version made the song weird on their taste while hyuk-soo had resemblance on Kyungho's voice

KCM should have won!!!! The other one keeps on making high notes and it's not that stable just so he could win
Sorry to butt in, but no, they're not stable. He reached that note alright, but because he was mimicking Kim Kyung Ho, it's revealing the limit of his technique. Kyung Ho is a singer with almost 2 decades of experience. Just because Hyeoksu can copy Kyungho's style, it doesn't mean that Hyeoksu can pull it off as well as the rock star.
Actually, Hyuksoo's high notes are stable. Those are his specialty lol. He does mimic Kim Kyungho often, but this was his actual singing voice. He didn't try to make it sound like Kim Kyungho this time around.
Those were indeed stable high notes. People probably think Hyuksoo's high notes are unstable because he breaks them toward the end (stylistically) and his vibrato is deep, sharp and somewhat cuts the note. I adore KCM but I would have voted for the opposite party as well. The key almost seems like it was made just for Hyuksoo. But if it were a half-step or two lower, the KCM's timber would have easily sounded more integrated, richer, and would've overall stood out more. What bothers me more, though, is that people are suddenly music majors, professional music analysts in the comments section with little to know experience in performance and application theory just to back up their biases. Take it to rest - both were stable, both did great, key wasn't great, Hyuksoo stood out and won.
지성 C. Okay. Different people, different ear. Maybe you're right, maybe it's just his style. Still, I do think KCM is more stable all around whether at the low, mid, or high. He's a bit weaker at the highs which made Hyuksoo stood out more, but this is a personal opinion.
And people who? I don't see anyone acting like professionals here. All I see is people giving reason why they agree or disagree.
The show is about entertaining the judges and winning them over though lol. Sometimes people just pull out comedy dance routines and sing badly and win cuz they're more entertaining. This isn't Mask Singer or anything. KCM wasn't as entertaining as Hyuksoo.
