Vocal cord is like any other muscle in your body, and professional singers stretch it by running scales, shouting scales, etc before a performance. JKY is a very good singer, and could really do himself a lot of good to practice/learn these warmups with a vocal coach. By the way, the judges were very unforgiving of his voice cracking, but he maintained his key and continued to sing seamlessly..I thought that was very impressive, and his interpretation of the song was better than the eventual winner of the round.

If only Kiyong didn't hit that off key, I think the score will be more tight and harder to predict also with his great emotion plus expression I think Jang Kiyong had a great chance to win the battle. Beside the emotion, his voice sounds so good with the lyrics as well. I can feel his feelings. But yeah his opponent singing with more skillful and brings good power then made people's ear put attention into his singing. Then for the 2nd battle. Like I said before, he singing with more skillful and if course stable but he lacka of emotion. That's why I said that Kiyong had a great chance to win with his sincere emotion before. Look at this women, she's not supposed to explode her skill. She brings the emotions and give it to us as listener so we can enjoy the song together. I like a singer like this who can brings the audience and listener to feel the same way as her also understand about the lyrics. Anyway, this is my first time to watch this show.

In my mind, Jang Ki Yong won the round. They made a big deal about his voice cracking, but his interpretation of the song was better. The other guy having technical skills actually is a turn-off, in my opinion. Singing the right notes doesn’t make a good singer. The guy was watching others and not getting into the meaning of the song; the dynamics of his song interpretation wasn’t good, as he seemed to shout and sing loud without much variation in his voice, whereas Jang Ki Yong varied the undulation of his voice as needed for proper interpretation of the lyrics. Also, they did not deduct points when he started to sing and cut into JKY’s turn, and both he and JKY noticed what happened. It was slight, but still noticeable that he screwed up. In my opinion that error shoulda canceled JKY’s voice cracking at one point, instead they just gave the win to the other guy, discounting that he cut into JKY’s singing. Too bad.

If you noticed he was just helping JKY by covering the first syllable because JKY was kind of out of breath and lost his footing a bit after singing the high note. PJC was helping him fill that momentary void. Still it's true, JKY's voice is better but PJC has better techniques
