- Just a day to take a quick look at some of the random 1/12 scale items items I've picked up, customized or been sent over the past few months to supplement my Star Wars and Marvel displays, like more Astonishing X-Men, another astromech for my droid army, fancy duds for Mastermind, fixes for Lord of the Rings and Legends, and some store bought goodies.

That astonishing cyclops is beautiful. Definetly one of the coolest cyclops looks ever and you have perfectly translated that into plastic form.

Count me in the number of people who snagged a Zyclops to use as a Mandroid stand-in. It also has a waist swivel and can get into some nice action poses. Thinking I need three more at the very least.
I have 2 smaller ones so far. Still haven't seen a 12" Zykos at the store

Even if a custom wasn’t perfect or was bad. I would never make comments like that. It’s just rude someone put blood sweat and tears into that project and I totally respect that. I’m sorry you get comments out there like that but you do great work Robo keep it up!
That Cyclops is, well, astonishing! That look is my preferred version so I've been waiting for a Hasbro to do it on the Bucky Cap mold but this has definitely convinced me that Spider UK is the way to go.

I've been getting more and more into customizing figures, loving it more, and getting much better at it. I've been re-doing or taking apart customs from years ago, re-visiting and fixing them with the skills I've learned, it's great! I enjoy getting figures on clearance and then turning them into other characters I want and I've really been having a good time painting DC multiverse figures, they're relatively cheap and easy to find, it's just a nice way to pass the time when you want something semi-creative to do. Always appreciate your tips and ideas as well, thanks Robo!
Recently I’ve gotten that itch to start a new custom project, but all of my tools and paint are back home. I’m going to have live vicariously through Robo’s Play Days.

We have the same philosophy when it comes to custom figures. I don’t need 100% screen accurate as long as I’m happy with it and it looks good with my shelf.
That’s mine too. My wife made an Iron Patriot that isn’t accurate at all, but it has the red white and blue so that was enough for me. Plus my wife made it so I have to at least enjoy it.
Playday is always a good day. One of the first Fwoosh videos was a play day.
I really like that Mastermind Jacket. That figure and that jacket and a little creative kitbashing with head sculpts would make a really good 1/12-6in Scarecrow.

The new Lego star wars has a grey wookie just like yours, so you can call it a wandering wookie custom if the fancy strikes you

Honestly you never cease to amaze me with play days, both in terms of your skill and the skills of the other artists whose work you present.
I only do light customizing every now and then, usually just the occasional paint detail touchup but even then it's been a while. After seeing this and the Thor trailer I think I might have to go and get that Gorr figure and add some extra shading and more black drool to the face.

For my Mastermind custom I used a Moebius body and the coat from that Wolverine in the twin pack with old Hawkeye (who is doubling as a Whistler)

Awesome play day! I bought that Zyclops too to make something out of it. Such great articulation and scale. Be careful with the acetone though. I was a little heavy-handed wiping it with acetone sort of ruined the surface.

Great video as usual! I felt the need to comment because of your outro talking about your customs I literally just 4 days ago made a custom Mara Jade Skywalker for my Black Series and it's nowhere accurate to any artwork or anything but I am extremely happy with it.
Great idea for that AoA Sabertooth I might have a bash at that myself. I was also planning a wash to his hair to darken it and add some depth. But I saw some amazing person do a custom that was like pelts around his waist. I think I might do that too.

After seeing your thoughts for the costume marvel mandroid, I looked up on target to see what they are going for and saw Lightyear Zurg 10" Action Figure. And thought with all that purple it wouldn't make a good sentinel body. Comes with a blaster hand and a swap out regular hand. Its a larger figure might be nice to go with the haslab sentinel that you have the master mold head on.

Love that ending. I've too often talked myself out of a custom 'cuz I didn't have "The Perfect" part, or base, or paint, etc. However the foreign(and some domestic) markets are catching up to my imagination

Morlun is $6.50 right now on Amazon/Target. The tux with tails seems like a perfect body for Wyngarde, and I have like a dozen extra hands just from the Shang Chi movie wave.
Dame Robo I saw that yellow Robot in Target and thought the same thing with some yellow metallic paint and you got some Mandriods
OOOoooh fun fun fun fun!!! I (besides finding a disturbing amount of porgs (with no discernable memory of purchase)) missed out on All of those creatures, so I have to get that. And I still have to go through your catalog of vids to find that monkey body for Krrsantin and/or Sabertooth.

4:42 I have exact the same eyes paint issue with my Diamond Select Gandalf - so it could be a general QA issue. I asked my toy retailer where I bought it to look if they have one with better eye paint, but because they only got a very small shipment of Gandalfs they can‘t look yet. To be honest, the LotR line from Diamond Select is kind of an disappointment after the awesome prototypes shown on New York Toy Fair 2020.
Dang that rebel10 jacket isn’t up anymore it seems! Need to keep an eye on their page in the future they have some great soft goods.
I REALLY hope Hasbro has plans for Astonishing Cyclops on their Vulcan body. If it looks anything remotely close to your custom I will be very happy. Also will need to look into cloth cover for my own Mastermind.
