* slice your puffball mushroom into 1/4 to half inch slices spray with olive oil and add some spices. Bake in oven for 10 to 12 minutes at 425°. Remove from oven then add your pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese and pepperoni or whatever else you want to put onto it then return it back to the oven and bake for another 10 to 12 minutes at 425°, enjoy eating your pizza :-)

They look like soccer balls in the woods and when you cut them open, they’re pure white and look like mozzarella cheese or a marshmallow. You only want to cook the ones that are nice and firm once they start to get mushy/ not so good.

I live in the desert, and have never seen a giant puffball mushroom before. When you were slicing it, the squeaky sound made me think of eggplant. Is the texture similar?

Actually, that’s a pretty good comparison, but they don’t taste anything alike. I Actually, don’t like eggplant at all. When you cook mushrooms down the all kind of taste like mushrooms, but what you do with it makes it fun.
