Glad to see companies directly going after the dingwall player base. Ibanez last year and Kiesel this year. It’s only going to make everyone better.

@@MarkNuuuuuutt I saw in an interview that Sheldon said a headless is in the works, but its going to be a while, much like how the D roc took years to fully come to fruition.
I am okay with Dingwalls hovering around the 2k USD mark because they are, at the end of the day, insanely well crafted and thought out instruments.
And hey, in due time, the company will get bigger, and their infrastructure will be able to support having more output at a lesser cost, so it's really just a matter of time before some really cool stuff happens!

So cool seeing your design process, hope the people over the years who’ve said kiesel just presses play on a CNC get to see how much craftsmanship goes into these

    • @kylegrossi8175

I agree. I don't know why Kiesel got that stupid CNC label. Every major brand uses CNC machines these days. Guitar companies are a business and its costly to have thousands of workers cutting every guitar out by hand. Personally, i like the idea of my instrument being made with a very high level of accuracy.

The A2 is gorgeous. Anyone check out the manson oryx body its crazy secksi. I wish kiesel or some other companies would adopt a version of this model but also add in the leg cut in at the bottom to be ergonomic just like the boden. If any guitar builders out there are listening this must be done!!!

As a bass player, Upright bass, electric fretted and fretless basses, and cello). They seem to be nice instruments.
Must note: we all don't play consecutive sixteenth notes all the time.
Take in consideration that most of us use a series of in between sounds for our work.
I remember the Carvin products from the 1980's. Had three LB40F basses (which were stolen). One became a prize instrument. Single pickup basses that were better than some that cost way more!
We all know you can't go back to the past. Remember the rack of gear people used to haul around.
I have a few Carvin's from the 80's, 90's and 2000's. The newest Carvin is a 2012 BB76P bass. Bunny Brunell, six string bass, jazz pickup, MM humbucker, and piezo pickup in the bridge. Super tone. I could coast on the piezo for hours!
In short, three pickups can have their use if used in the right matter (My BB76P can work with all the combinations). Just a puzzle with the new layout.
( I also have a borderline Carvin/Kiesel DC700 seven string guitar with FIshman electronics) Simple layout without no excess clutter.
I bought a Kiesel Osiris Five string fretless bass. Maple neck with a walnut stripe, ale body, general finish, standard active/passive preamp, split pickup in the neck position, single coil in the bridge. A lot of wide range tones. Solid bass, single coil gives a boost to the fretless sound. Cool sounds in the single coil mode as well. No complaints so far.
Wonder if the new picks are single coil or humbuckers.
In short, those single pickup basses are easier to deal with. Desired sounds without the witchcraft.
They say the Dingwall preamp is an improvement over the stock one. Wonder if they will offer it with other basses.
    Time will tell.

20:13 - Based on the limited demos of the A2 bass that are out so far, I have to disagree. Tone is absolutely subjective, however I really dislike the clean tones I'm hearing from the A2. Maybe as more players get these in their hands and release demos my opinion will change, but for now I'll stick with my Dingwall's.

Very cool! Glad you guys doing some bass, I love guitar but my start is on a bass. I’ve been saving up for a nice 5 string bass, it’s actually gonna be more than I spend on guitars. It’s more i feel the foundation, you need a good bass sound to make you stuff hit hard.

    • @monitorlizard9971
      @monitorlizard9971 Год назад

I heard from some reviews that the thinner neck profile isnt necessary. I was seriously debating this myself for months. But Its already a real thin neck. From what jntel I have gathered. Like thinner neck profile was an auto slam in on the builder. But now it isnt since I figured it actually isnt as necessary as I had originally thought. I want to shred and i love ibanez prestige so i figured thinner neck right. But meh.

An accidental error strike on the 7th string can instantly create a bad chordal effect, for sure players using those model allocate lots of time, concentring in that bass string, creativity flies away quickly, fear of mistake they must secure their playiing ability. so as not to get incongrous notes, Its a great nice guitar really. Its freedom though.

So the owner / CEO is designing the guitars
This is like how Fender and Gibson used to do it. PRS takes the approach of letting these artists like Mayer design which most of the time doesn't work. Tremonti model and zappa model great but way too expensive. Gibson celebrity models end up being same guitar with different knobs
