I have the same opinion. I think graded cards are cool and if you have the money, go for it. But for me I just like raw way more. Can buy 4 cards for the price of one graded. Also just so many issues with graded cards being damaged and being misgraded. If I buy a slab I usually get 9s and just crack for my binder. Own like 2 graded cards rn
For me, it’s the ability to hold the physical card. I grew up holding the cards and having them in a slab just takes away the intimacy with the card and it doesn’t feel real tbh
Thank god those graded cards got hit. They where waaay overpriced during covid. I have never owned a slab and probably never will. The idea that a slab card psa 10 would cost 1000$ but ungraded with a tiny white dot costs 50$. In my opinion is basic math.
Never been a fan of graded cards as a whole, I like them way more displayed in a good quality binder like those from Dragon Shield or DEX personally :D
The entire trading card game industry is going to take an even bigger hit once we enter a depression. The 5 trillion dollars that was printed after March 2020 really messed up every market and it's going to some time for everything to bottom and stabilize.
I only ever buy graded cards as a last resort. Or if it's one of my favorite cards (I have most of the tin and game promos in PSA 10 cause I love the old prismatic promos) Grading in and of itself is a scam and market manipulation.
graded cards aren't liquid at all, its impossible to find buyers at market prices. i regret getting into the hobby at the top of the hype and peak. imo everything will drop 30% after 2023 it'll be more worth collecting then. since only true collectors will be left at that point
I feel you on the graded card thing. I have a very few gem 10s in my collection and a bunch of 9s and yeah, regret a lot of them. The prices are nuts, especially on the cards from my childhood, so if I get anymore I’ll have to be super careful about which I get. I do think I’ll pickup a DDS blue eyes one day. Of the 3 OGs it’s the cheapest one, and by far the best looking. And maybe a 10 of the Japanese ultimate rare of it. But combined that’s like 10k and I could make entire collections for that lol
You should tap that monarch to the bottom, it’ll get trapped at the top and get damaged. Take it from me lol great video! Totally agree!
Thanks for the heads up!

Graded cards are a big trap for collectors.
Ahhhh seeing those monarchs again brings back mems 🙏🏻 great video bro

To be fair the mislabled ones are both very old submissions judging by the number.

Dragon Shield is the way to go for sure

I'd rather have multiple amazing cards than one that's PSA 10. The only reason I'd grade a card is probably to sell it for more
Yea, the price multiplier of a piece of plastic is crazy. These days, all the cards that I grade get sold.

Graded these days has tanked a bit minus the high high end im not keen on prices but they do look great in showcases
It really depends on the card, but most have retraced quite a bit. Even more significant in my opinion is the drop in liquidity of graded cards.
That title got me like 👀😊
Lolll

For me, grading your favorite cards makes sense, but huge collections of 100s of slabs is a bit too much...
congrats on your PSA
Thanks!
has psa changed their cases? the borders look super cloudy
These are all different iterations of the PSA case, it might just be my lighting.
