also: now that you can put any consumable you want into the quick slots, farming healing ichor has become very popular. One of the easiest ways to find spider dens for this is to follow the rivers from the beaches inland. Enemies will get progressively harder along the river edge and finding a spider den shouldn't be too hard that way. Helped me a ton to farm them for tense situations. I usually carry 6 heal pots/6 ichors on all my chars now.
This is my experience. Learn the game with priest, the heals will help you stay alive longer. Then go with necro. Then go with trickster. And finally to learn melee, go with paladin. One of the best trainings I have is to use a wizard on godlands and see how long can you last without getting hit once while you are killing gods. This will help you with spatial awareness. Try to strife left and right and only back out when you feel danger.
^ This. In almost all situations, pushing left/right or forward/right and forward/left (think quarter rotations around the target) is almost always the dodge to go for, unless you're doing certain bosses. Once you get really good at not taking a hit in god lands, start trying to intentionally pick the hardest "dodge" to make and go for it. This will teach you things about how tightly you can squeeze through bullets and with what speed.
the priest part is 100% true. I have played for hours and ive always died before maxing even one stat. Then I tried priest and after few hours maxed dex. so I think new players should start with priest
as someone who has played this game for 9+ years i can say i love all of these tips. Very useful things to know/work on for new players but always remember: Play the game how you think works best for you. Personally I have no issues with the default camera rotation speed and always find it fast enough but that could easily be due to how I rotate compared to others. People learn differently and come up with techniques that they find work better for them so if you're not doing something in this video it's all good! You don't need to change something that works.
If you were wondering, yes I do find it fast enough for outer rotations too. I more or less rotate with offset so that I can utilize the further view distance as much as possible but I played my first 5 or so years without screen rotation or offset and still found benefits from using that as well. For outer rotations it'd be like, start with offset and rotated towards him so I can see how close he is to me earlier, and then rotate with him like normal. I imagine the room as a complete circle when I'm doing this and try to follow that circle as closely as possible without using A or D but I keep in mind the phases and what I could possibly run into while doing that, so I might play with no offset and using rotation or I might go without rotation or offset and quickly reset my camera angle so that I remember where I'm at in the room and can plan out what I'm doing next from that position but it all depends on what's going on in the fight and if I'd prefer or not prefer rotation/offset for that part. Hope you guys appreciate my input here :> Theres no negativity intended with this comment so please keep things nice, if a new player comes across this I just want them to know that it's not wrong to be unconventional but try to utilize whatever benefits you can because these are things that definitely give you that advantage that most other players have. Offset is quite literally extra view distance that you can't get unless you offset. It's worth it to try to find and learn to use these advantages, more than just offset too (ahem, hp and mp pots, pls don't forget the mp pots if you have them just because they're not hp)
I would add to try different zoom options for bosses you’re struggling on. I couldn’t get past Dammah until I zoomed my screen in. Even 1 or 2 levels of zoom in can help you see what’s going on better without sacrificing much valuable information in most cases. Edit: Same goes for camera offset. For the nest boss I sometimes center my camera and then circle the room without rotating my screen. Basically try new things and see what works best for you.

The information in the video is invaluable. If I were to give my 2 cents on how to get better, the #1 thing I'd say to do is start soloing dungeons more. You can only ever fuck up a dungeon so many times before you eventually complete and master it. One burning question I have, is rotating the camera truly a necessity in this game? I usually like to keep a static camera, no rotation at all, but I figure that i kinda have to rotate my camera in this game since about 90% of players i've watched do it, should i get into the habit of doing so as well? Not sure if it'd help me tremendously in the long run but it might so i'm not sure, I figured rotating the camera was more of a preference thing but apparently it provides benefits.
Rotating has never been required outside of something they recently added, but rotating your camera (and off-setting your camera) can literally let you see like 30% more in front of you, which means you basically just get to see things way further away I remember someone who never screen rotated saying, while watching someone else's screen, "wait you guys can actually see that far??" Because they didn't know that you actually could just see way further But the thing they recently added that you basically need to screen rotate for is in the new hard mode shatters during second boss, there is a phase that requires unusual angles and if you don't screen rotate you basically need to hyper tap your movement keys instead of holding them down, which is both very technically demanding and not practical
@@JameTime about the hyper tapping thing you mentioned: im used to private servers & btn and havent played prod in quite a while, does prod really not have a crouch key or some other way to manually lower your speed? that seems like something they would/should have done right away when they started adding real bullet hell phases like patience (and its just really nice QoL even for easier stuff)
