- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed that the Bangladeshi-origin minority community overwhelmingly supported the Congress in the recent Lok Sabha elections, ignoring the developmental efforts made for them by the BJP-led governments at both the Centre and the state.
Sarma accused the Bangladeshi-origin minority community of being the only group in Assam that engages in communal politics. In the elections, the BJP-AGP-UPPL coalition secured 11 out of 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam, while the Congress won the remaining three.

The current government (BJP) should implement the Assam Accord and ensure that the provisions of Clause 6 are fully executed. It is important to grant ST status and the Sixth Schedule benefits to the Ahoms, Motoks, Morans, Chutia, Koch, and others, placing them on an equal footing with the princely states of the Dimasa Kacharis and the Jaintias. While the Singhpho, Kuki, and Khamtis have been given ST status despite settling in the valley at a later point, it is grossly unfair to exclude the Ahoms, Motoks, Morans, and Koch. Before India's independence, there was no dominant culture in this valley, and all communities were equally marginalized.
Furthermore, providing SC-based reservation in assembly seats is unnecessary, as there was no discrimination here unlike in the rest of India.

True Indians will obey the fundamental duties and adhere to the National pledge. Let BJP supporters examine themselves if they are living as per the fundamental duties especially the duties 5&8 and the national pledge. If not how can they call themselves True patriots and others as Anti- Nationals?
