I love the early stories in the Bible, especially those of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. It is a joy to read because these men, though flawed like all of us, were nevertheless loyal to God and very honorable. All those great ladies too - Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel, Leah, etc. Then, from the time God rescued the Israelites from Egypt all the way down to the time of Malachi, there was wave after wave of massive disobedience, and thus punishment from God. The kings, the priests, the elders, so many of the people, just falling deep into apostasy. It would be unbearable to read if there were not people like Naomi and Ruth, David, Hezekiah, Josiah, Elijah and Elisha, etc, and all the faithful prophets.

The movie isn't entirely scriptural but it has great messages to teach us. If you read your bible you can see the parts that is just for the sake of making the movie. I do not think i have seen any movie that is completely scriptural. It is getting harder to find any Christian movie shown anymore. They are taking God out of everything.

I have this movie on dvd.its one of the best depictions of abraham. The movie does have some slight changes from the actual events in the bible, but overall this movie is like 80% accurate. Abraham and his brother and father did worship other gods(idols) before abram was found by the Lord.
That was five or six thousand years ago , what's in future and what remains to be seen is more out of this world. It's like this , this world is a trash dumpster and the world after is a penthouse. In human terms.
I doubt they walked across that terrain. I would think they travelled on donkeys or camels ir something.
