I'm really not understanding these harsh comments in almost every Neue Stimmen video. Opera is hard, and these finalists sound absolutely wonderful. Her coloratura is great!

Needs to work on her chestvoice if she’s going to sing Rossini mezzo roles. The trouser roles need it.
She doesn't sound like mezzo, not even close...
Silly man, don't you know that real mezzo's aren't supposed to be audible below middle c???

Who are these teachers who teach their students to sing so nasal? The most basic thing in operatic singing is to lower the larynx and lift the soft palate! If you sound nasal the palate is not lifted, allowing air to escape through the nose. How do professionals don't know this?!
And falsetto participation? Girare? No? So you should just press an uncoordinated mixed voice as high as possible?
Oh goodie, another one imitating Joyce DiDonato; right down to the strangled nanny-goat vibrato and barely audible low notes.
I would be grateful if you could post a list of conservatories where freshmen sound like this.
