People can't help the fact that they can't have children. It's no one's fault, honestly, it shouldn't be up to the in-laws to decide who has a relationship with who. People can adopt kids it's not a problem. I can't have children and yet that doesn't bother me. I was adopted too nothing no one can do about it. Theres nothing wrong with being adopted.

This was such a surprising story. The writer did an excellent job. On the surface it looked to be a contradiction, but in reality the story in the end made so much sense. The morale of the story is that you need to be careful in what you learn from history. There are no real "generational curses," only mistaken beliefs. To be a happy family, all you need is love and understanding, This was great writing. Thank you for producing such an outstanding piece of work. It makes me so proud to be part of this audience, because adoption in today's world is very important for the continuation of mankind. It is the beliefs that you teach to the next generation that is ultimately in the end that are important. That is why the stolen children and orphans by Russia is such an important issue. The world has to understand that this is a crime against humanity for they are trying to erase Ukrainian culture.

I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated because i literally can't envision my life with anyone else. Though it’s been on heart for years, to adopt. So whether or not I have my own biological children, I still hope to adopt one or two kids, maybe siblings if that’s the option I am blessed with. If I have bio kids, I’d wait till they were maybe in elementary school before adopting.. if for whatever reason I’m unable to have bio kids, that would be a discussion to consider with my future husband, of when to adopt, what ages, from where, and how many.

The dialogue between mother and son (where she explains adoption)is one of my favorites.

How could a mother treat her son like that??? It's so cruel!!! She needed to tell her son, that he was adopted!!! I was adopted when I was only a month old. My parents told me I was, when I was old enough to understand.

I have relatives that do not acknowledge the adopted children in their family. It is so sad to see.
Their adult children come over and they will shower love and attention on the biological grandkids but treat the adopted kids like guests or just flat out ignore them.

Unfortunately as an Asian watching this... The couples' misbehavior is unacceptable 😂 their behavior is the worst. The whole adoption thing, the mother's worry and her apologize aren't wrong and it's heart warming in the end, but I just can't get over how the couple treated her 😂 like the word respect never existed. There are many ppl who needs to be respected, and many who don't, but the mother in this case isn't so bad to the point she doesn't deserve any respects. It's a little too much.

She didn't respect them. So how can they respect her? Why couldn't she have told the truth the moment she found out about the adoption? Why did she have to do it this way?
People are like mirrors. They give back what they were given. If she's going to treat them one way, then expect it come right back.
Also Asian? No. You're just mean.

What kind of an ungrateful man he is. After coming to know he was adopted, instead of feeling grateful that his mother gave him this life despite her husband leaving the .. this useless guy was angry at her

Useless? Are you kidding me? There is absolutely no reason to lie to someone about everything, all their life, cause the parent is incompetent and lying for their SELFISH uncomfortable feelings. Not to mention trying to break up his (the Son's) marriage and an adoption, simply cause the mother decided to be so damn immature and selfish, to the point, she PROJECTED her fears, insecurities, and trauma onto her son and his marriage....that mother absolutely is the problem and because of her selfishness, she caused all kinds of issues! When she should have sorted them out in therapy and definitely should have been emotionally intelligent enough to realize her fears and insecurities should never be projected ever, especially as a thing that WILL happen in her son's life and relationship, when that isn't reality or sane thinking.
In fact what that mother did is exactly why generational trauma exists, to begin with. Cause someone in the chain never worked on themselves and their trauma's, so instead teach them to their kids in the most toxic and damaging ways ..there is nothing wrong with teaching kids about things that could be dangerous, but not in the way this mother and so many parents do to their kids. And to excuse her bad behavior, simply cause she continued on and did the bare minimum of being a parent, is disgusting. No child should ever, have to feel "grateful" like an indebted person to their parents. Their parents chose to have a child or adopt them, they, the adults in the situation do so out of love...not cause they are letting a newborn rack up "debts". That is controlling, narcissistic, and literal emotional abuse. It is a horrible mentality to make children have to feel indebted to you, simply cause you (the parent) chose to have them as a child in your life....
