  • Nancy demonstrates just how easy it is to change the drive band on a Lendrum Spinning Wheel. She first shows you how to disconnect the footman by popping of the connector piece. Remember to hold on to the connector so you don't lose it! Once your footman is loose you are free to pull the drive band over and off your wheel. Nancy also discusses how to change the footman connector on the wheel.

Super easy to remove the clip and replace. Did bounce away, but not too far. Would recommend putting the wheel on a dark towel so you can see the clip if it bounces.

This video makes it look 1000x easier than it is. It’s so hard to remove the clip!

Thanks. My new Lendrum has the C clip so I'll probably put the wheel flat on a table before taking it off after reading the comments. Would like to see where to oil the wheel other than the main ball bearing area.

This video is 6 years old so I’m not holding my breath, but any suggestions for how to get the footman connector segment out of the top piece, if it broke off at the entrance? I ordered replacement parts from you and they arrived, but even after removing the screw with the special screwdriver, I can’t get the tiny nub of the remaining footman connector piece out of the hole.

Ok, I was able to dig a sharp tool into the rubber and leverage the wood to wedge it out bit by bit (unfortunately, not before I cut my finger, doh!)

My Lendrum was purchased in 1997 and does not have the C clip on the footman. My friend's Lendrum, bought within a year or so of mine, also does not have the clip.
We just pop off the footman to change the band. The nylon bushing snaps into place on the post. I have never had a problem with the footman popping off when I spin. Not sure why Lendrum did it this way during that time.
