Oh! Thank you so much for this video. I got my matchless in December and couldn't figure out how I was wearing the drive band out so soon. Looks like I was not lowering the flyer enough when putting on the drive band. Ha! This time I counted how many turns she to to lower her flyer:). Thanks so much!
I received my Matchless with the drive and already on (from the factory). However, the ‘knot’ is making a clucking sound AND seems to be pulling more each time it hits the flyer? I’ve tried moving it to the whorl but it’s still doing the same thing. So when I drafting there is a sudden pull that reoccurring at each time the knot hits. How can I resolve this? I’m thinking that the drive and is too thick?
I have two questions. Why is she using thicker yarn than the drive band string I bought? The other is about how tight should the drive band be when typing? Thanks!
You can use many different thicknesses of cotton drive bands, or even materials other than cotton string, though we've found that cotton suits most spinners best. Tightness: set the flyer parallel to the mother-of-all. When you tie the band as shown in this video, it will be at the optimum length (tightness) for spinning in Scotch tension and adjusting take-up in double drive. Hope this helps!

@@schachtspindle Thank you!
@@Missjuliesatelier You're welcome!
Could you show how to set up the recent matchless up for scotch tension?
Heather Heather Hi there! We will put that on our video list! Thanks for the input!
