So thankful my parents fed me this music and it's embedded into me. It's my foundation and will never me broken. I was just watching the video of his younger self and the Clark Sisters singing "Trust in Him." I got so emotional, as the nostalgia set in, because I yearn for that sound again. This hurts, this hurts badly...the legendary, the incomparable, the magnificent Bishop Rance Allen was one of, if not the best and most gifted, male gospel VOCALIST alive during our time; only out-ranged, possibly, by the late Rev. James Moore. Only Moore or the late Daryl Coley could even come close to having the extreme vocal control and vast, explosive range that Rance so powerfully exhibited in song after song after song for over half a century. Rance didn't just "sing"...he didn't just "perform"...he MINISTERD, and millions have been touched by the Hand of the Lord through his gifting. I've been a devout and devoted fan of his musical prowess and preaching ministry since the late 1960's when he first became nationally recognized, singing and preaching at church Conventions, Holy Convocations, Midnight Musicals and Gospel Talent Shows and Concerts, long before he recorded his first album. He had a spectacular anointing, which ALWAYS blessed and lifted audiences everywhere regardless of the occasion, and his skills and talent as a writer and lyricist were uniquely unmatched, placing him in the pantheon with other modern gospel geniuses such as Andare Crouch, Dr. Mattie Moss Clark and Rev. I always loved his dancing , preaching and singing for many years. But I got to meet him in a little town in Louisiana at a I hop restaurant. He let me take a pic with him and he told me he would be preaching I Opelousas,La . I told him I would be there. Once there he had us stand and introduced us as his friends. He had a sweet spirit.and will be greatly missed by me. May God continue to bless you Mother Allen.
