I come from the future to say that Pyrocynical has influenced a millions of people to waste 24 hours of their lives just to get this achievement. In the meantime, Hunt Down The Freeman is dead, Project Borealis is looking really cool and Black Mesa: Xen is in Public Beta state, that means there's a high chance that Pyro might revisit this game soon... At least it's what I hope it's gonna happen.

Achievement value is subjective depending on which game you play. It is mathematically impossible to impose a fair and balanced universal achievement leaderboard without ripping off something like Xbox's achievements. Even if you do, you've gotta take a look at some of the Steam Greenlight achievements and put a value on those too, regardless of how easy they are to earn.
If Steam made an achievement system that meant anything, it'd be a mess. Not because they can't create a system without it having a number of flaws for many years (even though they clearly can't) but because you would need to be a very experienced professional mathematician in order to explain why the system is fair and balanced and why someone who wins 2 achievements on one second of playtime is worth more than someone who wins 15 achievements from 26 hours of playtime.
I like achievements cause they give me something to focus on and they make my feel like I accomplished something.
