I don't defend Melissa often but what she did on the first episode is completely different than Christ-y forcing Sarah back in when she was kicked out. Maddie didn't feel good and Melissa gave her time to get composure before sending her back in. Maddie also wanted to go back in once she got control of herself. Apple's and oranges.

exactly! way different. maddie was always a perfectionist so she never really wanted to leave and mackenzie was in it for fun because her friends were there so she didn’t really want to leave either. the only time maddie was CLOSE to leaving was because she didn’t feel too well and melissa told her to just calm down for a bit until she felt better, she didn’t PUSH her to stay but gave her time before sending her back in.
most parents do that when their child is sick when it’s school or when they have to go somewhere. “just try to rest for a bit and see what happens”.
christy’s situation however was totally different. abby kicked her out and sarah WANTED to leave but her mother kept pushing her to stay when sarah kept saying she was uncomfortable to be there.
