Take the Helm

In summer 2021 The D-Day Story was successful in securing funding as part of the Holiday Activities Fund. The funding from the Department for Education supported the delivery of enriching activities alongside providing nutritious meals for families in receipt of free school meals.
Take the Helm focused on working with 14 to 16 year olds to design and lead creative activities for families with children aged 5 to 11 years old. This was done by professional Creatives facilitating workshops where young people took part through theatre, storytelling, game design and working with families.
