  • The Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas race brought the energy as William Byron DOMINATED the track. In the first stage, Kyle Busch looked poised to make an impact, but an early crash into the wall damaged his hopes. Byron was able to cruise to an easy victory in Stage one. Much of the same came into the second stage as Byron won again with Kyle Larson and Alex Bowman finishing in the second and third place. Kyle Larson looked to be a strong contender in the final stage but a caution featuring Joey Logano forced overtime which helped Byron win the final stage.

On the Brad and Joey wreck - Brad did not "come up" - the corner ended. The tri-oval is way sharper here than most mile and half tracks. Joey tried to get around Brad and Kyle coming out of turn 4 but Brad and Kyle had no momentum loss and stayed right with Joey. At this point Joey drove himself there by staying in the gas just as hard as Brad and Kyle. Just hard racing and Joey essentially made a mistake in thinking that he could clear the 6 and 8. However if the move had actually stuck it would've been an incredible pass on the outside where everyone was biting the wall.

I have one driver in mind for temporarily replacing Elliott:
    Trevor Bayne (6' 2" and 175 Pounds)
Stats: 1 Cup Win, 5 Top 5s, 16 Top 10s, Led 71 of 49572 Laps (0.0014270783%), Finished 159 of 187 Cup Races (28 DNFS), 80 Lead Lap Finishes, 1 DNQ, An Average Start of 22.0, An Average Finish of 23.3 and Finished 22nd in Points Two Years in a Row (2016 and 2017)
His stats aren't the best, but seeing how he performed in Xfinity gives me hope. I know the Next-Gen car is different and Bayne is an older driver than Chase. However, If he gets the chance to race multiple times, he'll race with some drivers he knows before he left, despite being with a different team. He'll be in a championship winning car, plus he'll get tips from the pit crew and his possible teammates in the garage. Maybe Logano, Harvick, Hamlin and Busch will give him some pointers. Who knows?

A guy at work told me I should watch NASCAR because "it's not rigged like other sports". 🤣🤣🤣

its not rigged though just because the best organization in the cup series wins doesn't mean its rigged pal

I think it's rigged when you see one make of car dominate while the others struggle. It's early though. We'll see what happens. Strange that Logano was real fast for a few lapse, then just went backwards. Toyotas were up there but not near good enough to beat this Chevy onslaught. This made it a boring race to watch.

Started following NASCAR in 1968. Watched Chrysler and Ford run those aero cars in 69-70 when David Pearson won the Cup in a Ford then Bobby Isaac in a Chrysler. Then of course this ended in 71. No more aero cars. GM wasn't in it, GM had no engine that could compete. I've been to several NASCAR races. Atlanta, Michigan, and Phoenix. My favorite drivers will always be Davey Allison, David Pearson and Richard Petty. So I've seen a lot of NASCAR over the years, probably more than you ever have. I'm not sure, I don't like today's NASCAR format with the stage racing. I've watched these stage races change the complexion of a race. NASCAR should go back to the old point system. So what do you know about NASCAR, how old are you?

This race was fixed for Byron to win. He had a great car but no reason at all for the caution to come out with 6 laps left. Kyle Larson had this race won thanks to the 10 car. What a joke nascar has become. Let the racers race and let the fans enjoy it.

They were too good parts about this race.
The number 8 too fast off pit row and not taking a win.
Number 23, not taking a win.
Otherwise, nothing else really mattered about the race.
