His parents used to teach singing.
His mother’s lyrics are in Hokkien.
There are things i need to mention:
1. Actually the type of melody in the song resemble more to old hokkien/taiwanese songs, which has the harmonies and stuff.
2. Namewee's dad is also a great singer. In fact, his dad is a karaoke teacher. He did a song with his dad too called Dreams From My Father (爸爸的夢). You can go and listen to it if you want to.

The lyrics of this song are incredibly moving. If you understand Hokkien and mandarin, the impact is even more profound. Despite the song's age, I find myself returning to it repeatedly. It never fails to touch me deeply, often bringing tears to my eyes. Namewee's talent is truly exceptional. Thank you for sharing your reaction to this video.
In fact, the coolest thing is that he each wrote a song to sing with his parents. Her mum actually sings in Hokkien another Chinese dialect from the Fujian Province in China...In Taiwan, it's called the Min lan dialect..
1:15 Not sure if anyone has explained it but 老母(old mom) is a relatively informal way to describe one's own mother.
Not true, 老母 was a term to show respect to a mother in their family,it was formal in the past. Just a part of Chinese culture, people usually use the harshest way to insult their opponent, mixing some foul language with 老母 might make people feel it is an inappropriate word. In this song, it is actually using it in a tradional way.
