I was on Hainan once. It's fastly losing its identity, so if you visit Hainan, try to leave tourist spots to see traditional culture. I think your interpretation about 'two kinds of people' is accurate. Local tribes and Han-Chinese are really different. Han are mostly migrants, that's why they don't carry.

Sean Lin is impersonating the sound of the famous singer in Taiwan, Fei Yu Ching here in this video. If you don't know who Fei Yu Ching is, he is the original singer of the song 一剪梅 (Yi Jian Mei). I think they can't get Fei Yu Ching himself, so they got Sean Lin instead. But Sean Lin did a good job impersonating the voice of Fei Yu Ching here.
Fei Yu Ching is Taiwanese, not from China.

Basically Hainan Island is like Ibiza of China… a party island. It’s also where Namewee’s ancestors lived before moving to Malaysia. So I guess he’s blending his humor with the tradition and current reality of the special service industry 😂
