Just an FYI: humans can read very quickly. This means, that if you let longer Texts that are interrelated, such as @3:24 you can read it very quickly and return concentrating on what you are saying. Otherwise, you have to wait to return the attention to what's really important until everything has been shown, which can be done much faster horizontally instead of vertically. (sorry for the bad English)
Hi Chris! Really insightful, well-explained, and down-to-earth video as usual :) However, just one thing with the way you display extra information as text on the screen, such as at 3:18, it might be easier to instead display it all as one line of text on the screen at the same time, as opposed to it being fast scrolling. Just so that you can pause the video and read the text, without needing to try and multitask reading and listening for 20 seconds as it scrolls up the screen, as you're still talking. All in all, though, I really enjoy your videos, so keep up the good work!
I love the honesty and sincerity of the advice offered. As much as I love watching the bigger cycling channels and vloggers, they do sometimes lose focus on us mere mortals. Thanks Chris, you're fast becoming my favourite you tuber.

very interesting video. Last September I did a time trial. I did it on my gravel bike, with wide tyres. I did it for myself to see just what I could do, and get a "base" time for myself. I did have plans of doing more this year, but with such a strange year, I've yet to do more, but I'm looking forward to when they return.

Great information Chris. I just picked up a Tri bike for 500 euros and love the idea of doing TTs. Do you do anything differently when it comes to hydration, such as electrolytes or is it just H2O?
Thank you, good luck with the new bike! Practice makes perfect regarding the pacing. On the whole an electrolyte drink is my favourite on the bike, its easier to drink than water and can prevent dehydration on longer rides.

moshie freilich I would spend a few weeks doing longer( 2 to 3 hour ) low intensity rides to build your aerobic fitness back up say 3 times a week and gradually add more intense rides after that but a lot shorter. The more intense the shorter the ride!. You wouldn't' have lost that much fitness in 3 weeks so you will be back up to your pre accident fitness before you know it
Hi Moshie Freillich, Give yourself time to recover. Your body has had to work hard since the crash and infection. Your body will feel this, but you won't have lost too much in 3 weeks. Take your time and don't over do it. Fuel your body with good food and water. Enjoy riding your bike! Rest when you need to!

Since you say going faster doesn’t interest you I’ll explain what those people mean by it. They aren’t looking to raise an avg to an arbitrary speed. They’re interested in having the fitness to be faster. All of these tips only work for people who aren’t yet doing them. And therefore they only allow a single improvement. Once you’re doing them that’s it. What would be way more useful and to the point are training tips for how to increase your speed.
