  • Sure, Gisele Bündchen may emerge from the ocean with perfectly tousled locks, but for most of us, "effortless" beach waves require a texturizing spray, some sort of curling iron, and 30 minutes (or more) of styling-at the minimum. The good news is, that actually doesn't have to be the case. In the video above, celebrity hairstylist Ashley Streicher demonstrates how to get perfectly rumpled tresses sans heat. Sound too good to be true? Trust us: After experimenting with the tutorial firsthand, we can report that our hair fell into gorgeous, natural-looking waves. Needless to say, we've found our go-to summer hairstyle. For Streicher's step-by-step instructions on how to get wavy hair without a curling iron, watch above.

Yeah I just tried this and it's a no-go. This is a technic for a very specific type of hair, which should be specified.

I'm old, and I remember we did something similar to this in the 1980's, teased the hair, then lots of hair spray. 😊

I HAVE to brush it first. My hair gets almost the same effect by putting my (slightly damp) hair in a twisted bun and taking it out when my hair gets more dry. While it's still damp after the bun I'll let I dry the last bit. Boom, much better!

Yeah right. I have very long, super straight, medium fine hair that goes very tangled after I wash my hair because of sheer length. This is for medium to short, fine wavy hair.

I agree this works on almost any hair type. I have pin straight super thick hair naturally and when I brush it after a shower it dries straight. But when I don’t brush it after showering I do get beachy bed head waves, which look even better after sleeping and a little bit of sea salt spray. Definitely going to try some anti frizz though!

I do this too, take a shower at night, add antifrizz, sleep on it and voila!

SERZ the zala colour chart is so damn helpful , they even do colour matches with your hair which is brilliant if you are unsure of what colour will match your natural hair! 100% Recommend the ponytail ! i pretty much live with mine in!

I'd add a couple chunkier braids in for a litle bit more of a curl if you're going to sleep on it. Not the whole head, just a couple random braids on each side.

35 min 😂😂😂 it takes a minimum of 8 hours for my hair to dry. I just recently cut it to to right above my shoulder and even this short it STILL takes an entire workday. 35 min 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

    • @bellaraschke

Yes! My hair is wavy, almost curly, and fine, and doing this makes mine end up like a frizzy, knotted curl :/ Haha

Dude my hair would not do this. Maybe if you have natural waves. My hair is like corn silk. The closest I can get to heat free waves is to not brush then SLEEP on damp hair. BUT I still have to volumize and dry my roots or it's pancakes! Even then it's more of a messy bend.
