I bought the OLED fairly soon after release and oh my... It's a daily driver for me. I play the Deck for at least half an hour every day on commutes, breaks or at home. At home it makes for a far more relaxed and social gaming experience, being in the living room laying on the couch playing games while not being totally removed up in my room on my PC. I'm an emulation geek too, and it plays pretty much everything I want from my retro library and even a few PS3 games. Plus with some proton tinkering and fine tuning with Lutris, getting older non-steam PC games working is fairly easy and insanely smooth to play. Hell, I've been playing Spider-Man 3, a pretty bad game but I have insane nostalgia for it, and the PC version on the Deck plays as perfectly as you can get for that game, and the only issues I have with it are bugs with the port, the Deck just plays everything I want exactly how I want. I'm not a visuals gal, I can take a hit to graphics if I get better performance, and the more modern titles I have still work phenomenally. Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales (another Spider-Man game, shocker) are fantastic at 30fps, the same frame rate as the PS4 originals so it doesn't bother me. The Steam Deck isn't perfect, but for me it is. The battery lasts longer than I'd ever need in one session, the screen is drop dead gorgeous, the games I can play on it still blows my mind, the availability of replacement parts warms my heart for my right to repair mentality, I could go on and on. Valve made a phenomenal console here, and even though Linux compatibility with Windows games isn't perfect, it's getting there, and I'd rather have a Linux based device that's cheaper and plays almost everything I want, than a Windows device like the ROG Ally that may be better, but is either way more expensive or doesn't have enough battery life to last the longer play sessions I may have. I haven't touched any of my other handhelds since I got the Deck, my Vita, PSP and 3DS are weeping in the corner gathering dust as I play the Steam Deck every day, and I've only played on my PC 3 times in the last 2-3 months. For me, the Steam Deck is a dream come true. True portability of games I could only ever dream of playing away from home. Like seriously, we have some PS5 level games that you can play literally ANYWHERE with no internet connection to bog you down, that just blows my mind. I could be in the middle of nowhere on a camping trip and still be able to play God of War or Spider-Man Miles Morales, granted I bring a few battery banks with me for charging, but I could do it, and I WILL do it some point soon ish, maybe in the summer, actually a fun idea now I think about it

Having both LCD Deck and now OLED 512 GB I can easily say that OLED display is a game changer. LCD on Deck was one of the worst LCD's I've seen nowadays with very bad RGB color range. I'm also amazed how big of a progress Deck did in just one year. You can install other game launchers under 5 mins with just one loader file - almost like installing an application on windows. Really amazing. Also new AAA games working pretty good like Helldivers 2 or new to PC Ghost of Tsushima.

A slightly bigger screen on the steamdeck alongside increased resolution seems accurate as long as they change the internal hardware. But this mean they will very likely go arm in the release of steamdeck 2, snapdragon x elite is now a thing, meaning desktop support for arm will be increased considerably, wine also added support for arm in the past year so the software is catching up to the platform, give it a couple of years for the support to increase and we'll have extended battery life, a more powerful cpu, a bigger screen, native wine support so games don't get finnicky. Aye!! A new video. The picture quality is amazing. Love the shirt. ✈
Its the best! Oled!
Curious what that fighting game is in the beginning ?
can it run helldivers?
Yes it can
800p is NOT a problem on the steam deck seeing as its not that large of a screen there is honestly no reason to have a higher than 1080p on a screen less than 8"
Bought a PS5 Portal so my Oled Switch and accessories, games are not needed. Traded in today towards a 1tb Steam deck oled. Cannot wait as the Oled screen on the Switch is excellent.
What's the Stardew-looking farming game called?
3:03 what game is this please
Midnight Fight Express
@@W13n3n thank you
Still on the fence about getting this. I could afford to wait and let my backlog sit and just get the sd2 at release.
I’m a new steam deck owner. I grabbed the OLED. I feel like if I started with the LCD, I wouldn’t upgrade and wait
But should I wait for the Steam Deck 2 to come out? I assume it'll have more power
really? whoa, you are so clever
Anybody know what baseball game got flashed at @2:11
Yeah it's Super Mega Baseball 4. Great game!
@@DaBoSchitt Thank you!
What game is this? 9:27
Sifu
@@peanutjames7827 thanks
game at 6:05 ?
I’m getting to Steam Deck OLED for sure. I just have to.
Just bought a Switch OLED a few weeks ago.... Now I'm hearing about switch 2 possibly coming out this year, can't decide if i should wait for it or just get a steam deck OLED and emulate Nintendo games??
Steam deck and emulate. Unfortunately Nintendo might mess it up
The switch 2 will charge you more money for a smaller library of games while giving you none of the steam deck's customization options, repairability, ability to act as a computer, etc. etc - nintendo doesn't respect their users, valve does.
Awesome video!! Anyone know the game at 6:00?
You waited yet you got the limited edition see though OLEd?
Yep? I just ordered the LE OLED yesterday, but not sure if it's based on location.
Get glossy display with matte finish screen protector to avoid "oily rainbow" glow.
This; I bought a used 64gb LCD model that had been upgraded to 2tb and they left a matte screen protector on it, looks fantastic.
it's already been 2 months?
I have the first deck. Jesus this thing is amazing! I could buy a 2 TB SSD to install both windows and Linux. But... I already have a laptop with 1tb, and man moving everything to a new SSD.. just a drag, so I'll wait until getting the OLED. But this upgrade looks sick!
5:30 What is the title of this game? 🤔🤔
sifu - if I'm not mistaken
@@goat800 Never heard of it but it looks great. Thanks mate, really appreciatie it. 👍👍
What is the game at 5:50? Great video, by the way-thank you.

What was the game with the character shooting the bow and arrow?

Those glowing stickers are dope, where can I buy them?

Midnight Fight Express
What's the name of the martial arts game in your B-roll ?? looks like a fun game
sifu
About to buy mine. I sold my Rog ally and legion go.i got my Xbox for gamepass games and steam deck im gonna use emulations/indie games .main reason im getting it is because of oled.i got Samsung qled tv and it makes huge difference playing on it instead of normal gaming monitor

Risk of Rain 2
What game are you playing at 3:00?
Thats what i want to know too, looks fun.
It’s Midnight Fight Express
anyone know what the game at 03:00 is ?
Midnight Fight Express
@@takeabreakism thank You!
What was that karate game you were playing?
There were a couple there, Sifu, and Midnight Fight Express
@@dude0909 thank you sifu was the game I was looking for
1:12 what game is that? Is it Sifu or another fighting game?
It's Sifu
Street Fighter is a fighting game, dude 😂
Bigger battery is great higher refresh rate yeah!
Should I get the Steam OLED even though I have a Switch?
I got a Switch... IT was boring. Steam Deck is the First Handheld, since PSP, that was good to buy for me.
PS Vita, retroid Pocket, Switch, 3ds... I didnt Play in Them!
The Deck changed my gaming live.
I bought the oledeck and wait for Delivery xD
My lcdeck... Maybe my girlfriend will use it
Absolutely more powerful and can play a lot more games despite the switch exclusives
The diagonals using the dpad for fighting games is still bad. Very bad.
Is it even worth it tho because I don’t have a steam deck and I’m wondering if I should just buy a used lcd instead of buying a new oled.
Your budget determines your answer
Limit the game's fps to 45 fps but keep the screen refresh rate at 90hz for the smoother gaming at lower fps
I want the limited edition so bad, but unfortunately is not available in my region. 😕🙄
Great Video.
Just one thing, this is the second time i noticed that the sponsored bit is not clearly disclosed at the start of the segment, and in my opinion, gives a huge negative impact on the overall video.
In the future (at the start of the segment) please clearly state when something is sponsored, ex: (this video is sponsored by .../ Today's sponsor...)
Or, to keep with the smooth transition, you could just add in the top left corner text, like, sponsored bit/sponsored by.
bro thinks hes a youtuber critic
Linus tech tips throws his sponsors in whenever
... or use sponsor block
@@KMDinc the sponsor is not the problem, the problem is that he doesn't make it clear when the sponsored bit starts, unlike LTT, Which Everytime they start with "...this segway, FROM OUR SPONSOR..."
damn i was ready to pull the trigger for that translucent oled deck but the resale is thru the roof
hey how is the name of the game like appears kinda samurai, thanks
karate game is SiFU
SD2 around the corner when a refresh is released!
nope.
whats the name of the 3d fighting game thats showing?
Sifu
Thanks man! @@quite.blessed91
Waiting for steamdeck 2. Hope it will release as oled.
I went with rog ally z1
Bigger battery is great higher refresh rate yeah! Hdr 1000 true oled and hdr hell yeah!!
The Batocera Beast!
I don't have a steam deck so I'm gunna be getting the oled in the next few weeks
What do you guys think about the Ally Z1 at $399 on sale at Bestbuy? Would your rather buy the base 256GB LCD SteamDeck?
Asus is for software engineers, the tinkering to get 60 mins of playtime for like 10 fps more is just ridiculous. Buy a steam deck and be happy without the headache....
Sadly, on my Deck OLED, I have the headphone static issue ;-; and I am too scared to attempt the fix myself since you need to take a daughter-board out
