I have both K371 and DT770 Pro 32 Ohm, and I don't understand why some people recommend AKG instead of Beyers. Sonically DT770 are cleaner, with better separation and much nicer low and top ends. K371 (which are a bit more premium K361) have 'fuller'mids, but I don''t enjoy it that much, and if someone is missing this in Beyers there is EQ for that. Something that is impossible to adjust in EQ is build quality. There is little point in even comparing these two headphones together. The new AKGs were crackling with the left earphone, but with Beyerdynamic I have the impression that my children will be able to use them successfully one day :)
Great informative video, I have hd560 , it’s a good all rounder headphone it’s available around £130 in the Uk , can fit a balanced cable , the cable is a bit rubbery but is ok .Sound petty good . Regards mark
Thanks for watching! I made another video on replacing the 560 cable with a headset mic if you like to game it’s a good option. Hate the cable the 560 comes with.
@@hackinghifi4247 hi thanks for reply, I don’t do gaming but I bet sounds great tho, I have been looking for a replacement cable for phones . Thanks mark
@@hackinghifi4247 Hey I just watched your review. Thank you!I'm looking for a pair of headphones to buy and use mainly with a digital piano (70% piano 30% anything else) I'm trying to decide between the Sennheiser hd560s and Rode NTH100 Please, which do you think I should go for? My concerns; will the Rode sound too bloated when playing lower mids/bass on the piano and overall will the imaging be great? And for the hd560s I'm concerned they will be "too detailed", cold and unengaging for enjoying practice/rehearsal times..? (Playing a digital piano even with headphones makes noise so I'm not too concerned about the Sennheiser leaking some sound).
@@Elazarko when you say imaging usually that is in a whole music track where you can hear all in instruments separate. For you just listening to yourself on piano I don’t think that would be an issue. I think you’ll really enjoy the rode and will work for long sessions as well. For piano I don’t think you’ll miss the bass much but if you do you could always output the piano sound to an amp and plug the headphones back into it. Unless I’m missing something about the way you’re using it I think you’ll be very happy with the rode option. If you want something that has more imaging and a brighter sound the dt770 is an excellent option but you may want to get an amp.
Yeah it’s ok, you just won’t get as much dynamic range as with more powerful amps. Sound won’t be as punchy in the bass and treble with sound a little more flat and harsh.
The blind test is definitely a good idea I’ll try and work it in at some point. I will tell you I did extensive listening with the apple dongle and was about to do the review when I thought why not I’ll check it with the Qudelix. Really threw me off I thought it would sound better but it cleaned up some muddiness in the bass and lent clarity to the upper midrange. Whether it’s placebo though is definitely an argument you could have. I will tell you I have a friend who’s an audio engineer and even for concerts etc the same principles apply. If you’re having to use all the power of your source it’s not going to sound as good, you want to run sources that have more than enough power that keeps your iem/speaker sounding it’s best.
@@hackinghifi4247 the headroom required in an amp to avoid saturation once you go over 90% volume is true but with all my iems (including s12 that is said to need power) i am at 30% volume max on the apple dongle.
Do you have a headphone/iem recommendation list ? Would you say that at a fixed budget for source+driver an iem will always sound better than a full size can because any item will be ok with the $10 apple dongle vs full size can requiring a $150 dac/amp ? Thanks
As a general rule yes because you can get an iem and apple dongle and be good to go. Also iem vs headphone iem gives you more bang for the buck especially the chifi stuff. But if imaging and soundstage if more your thing headphones do have a leg up there.
@@hackinghifi4247 interesting, how far ahead are your entry level budget recommendation headphones vs 7hz zero ? for soundstage/ imaging i prefer my near field speakers [jbl 305] what speakers do you use/recommend ? thanks

I definitely agree with that. The dt770 is built to last, plus has replaceable parts!

Wow, that mic sounds great!!!
Thanks Sonny! Had to adjust it in post I still had a little hiss but I’ll get it! Practice makes perfect right?
Have you tried the dt's 770 pro with some eq tweaks? If so, would it make it a more worthwhile pair of headphones?
I love my 770s! I just bring down the upper mids a bit and add a touch more bass and it’s good to go.
Is it ok to power dt770 and hd58x using apple dongle?
