We called this “the Happy Song.” The weather channel would play this after the storms were gone. When we heard it, we would know it was time to go out and survey storm damage, start picking up limbs, and be glad we made it.
There is something so calming and weird about that synth flute thing. It feels like that one smithonian show that you watched when the vhs playing tv got carted into your room in elementary school. I love it.
When I heard this in the Lethal Omen video I knew I recognized it as Weather Channel music. 🤣 While I like Smooth Sailing more this is still a song that gives me nostalgia.
Current conditions: Showers. Temp: 76F. Winds NW at 4 mph, gusts to 10 mph. Visibility: 1 mile. Ceiling: 1,000 feet. Tonight: Showers ending after midnight, then becoming partly cloudy. Some patchy fog is possible before sunrise. Low: 67F. Winds becoming calm.
Man, Lethal Omen is a really good 90s computer game, but don't even think about getting a Regnad OS emulator for it. I had to move out of my house, and I'm pretty sure the hazmat teams are still cleaning it up.
Another absolutely genius track by the impregnable Trammell Starks. Thank you for the gift of priceless childhood memories through your Weather Channel classics.
Help, I just found this channel and my dopamine is through the roof. Try gardening with this playing! Trammell Starks, I had never heard of you before today, but RUN IT, BROTHER! How is weather channel music this fricking good?!?!?!
The "Good Times". This song makes me think of living in , Beaufort SC when I was 8 years old, and every now and then, we would go and visit Savannah, GA.
This reminds me of all the GOOD TIMES i had at Myrtle Beach back in the late 90's early 2000's Everytime i would check into a Hotel i would immediately turn on TWC
Every hotel I've stayed at since the early to mid '90s, I've tuned into TWC as one of my first orders of business, and yes, for the music that'd play every 10 minutes in a local forecast.
Somehow, everytime there was a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING OR TORNADO WARNING, it seemed that this track was always in que lol... Many times, I would hear this song while watching a squall line on radar come across the Mississippi River into Downtown Memphis.
It's not always about the weather channel... It's about the Lethal Omen baby love the Lethal Omen alright baby let's go get a good game baby love the Lethal Omen let's go Lethal Omen!

I mean, yeah the Gemini videos brought me here, but I definetley remember stuff just like this on the TV at my grandparents house in the 2000s. they used to leave the weather channel on almost all day like a bunch of psychopaths.
This legit sounds like something from some 90's videogame trailer. Like I'm supposed to hear this over some Mario 64 beta footage. And I'm not saying that just because of Lethal Omen...I think.
You're not too far off. I was 10 years old playing Donkey Kong Country 2 and Yoshi's Island and also watching The Weather Channel a lot in early 1996 when this song and Trammel Starks' other music was part of the forecast soundtrack, so my mind associates this with those games. "Good Ole Days" is another Starks song that makes me think of DKC2. I also have a strong suspicion that "Jumpin" was the inspiration for Mario Kart 64's "Rainbow Road" song.
Does anyone know the title and artist of the gorgeous piece of piano, violin, and triangle music that the Weather Channel would play in rotation during the "Your local forecast, dependable and accurate from the Weather Channel" segment during the late 1980's? That piece of music makes you think of a beautiful rainforest on a rainy day or a waterfall in a beautiful mountain area. That piece of music had a beautiful, soft rolling sound to it. All these years I have never been able to find out the title of that piece of music or the artist who composed that great piece of music!
