One time when cho was a popular mid laner in s5 or s6 (being played by pros in pro games) I once watched a faker replay where he picked ap cho mid. He was losing hard, down like 10 kills at 15 minutes. The score was probably something like 4-15 but faker was still playing perfect and hadn't even died with perfect cs. There was a fight around blueside red buff - a 5v5 . Someone on fakers team had died first and they used a lot of ults to kill that person. They all grouped up to chase fight the rest of fakers team and stood together. Faker was in a bush as cho and hit them all together with q+w causing all of their hp to drop by like half and winning the teamfight from hitting them all together thus ended up winning the game from that. That is when I learned that when you are playing big wombo champions like viktor, orianna, ap cho and others you never give up if you have been playing and csing well because they can turn the game from one teamfight by landing a big combo. And I have since carried many games we were losing because I watched that vod. Don't give up and always look for the 3k elo shockweave type play when your playing these type champions. Just hoped to share some wisdom i've learned through the years as a masters player.
very well said, everyone focuses on 'early game' and 'scaling' strengths when it comes to champions but the ability to turn a losing game is under-looked. some champions can excel at this better than others with their teamfight playmaking as you said, so to anyone whose champs are like this take note.

I used to main him back when i played league in like 2014 and he was always very simple but very cool looking and dangerous, especially snowballed. Was kinda trash if your team had no damage cuz you’d just die in teamfights though haha even as a battlemage
that whole gain size with each stack makes cho unplayable as ap in the late game, playing hybrid with everfrost and demonic is just the better option imo
@@MrMrtvozornik the reason why this player uses belt is because ap cho is way too frail and easy to hit with any skillshot, you dont need that if you go hybrid, and everfrost can be used to chain cc the enemy and catch up the same way he uses protobelt after landing a q, and has lower cooldown, also you can get 25 magic pen (max bonus from belt) if you just build an Abyssal Mask
you can picture me surprised when all i could think of seeing this guy playing, being a cho main with just 1 year of league experience, is "nothing out of the ordinary, i agree with those actions/id would do the same", the only thing keeping me of playing like that is my pc and some small lack of mechanincs also a very important thing to note lane phase, is that Q only have damage scalings for levels, it doesnt increase mana cost, making it easy to farm from a distance and if the opportunity appears, poke with a bit more strenght

@@overstimulatedboy01 I mean there's dozens of champs who can one-shot faster and more secure while being safer/more mobile. Why would you want to play a clunky immobile tank as a mage just to one-shot?
@@teohyuanhui you don't need to tank if you don't get hit. Besides, AP Cho dies just as fast as any assassin, he's also bigger = easier to get hit, he gets in and can't get out. Other mages either do their stuff then back out, or do their stuff from far away.
I am main Cho'gath Top, I build it full tank, the number of enemies that have more damage, tank more, have more mobility or have more stuns or slowdowns is disproportionate, for a cho'gath to play you need one of 2 things, start from a bush or have flash to enter, in teamfight it is more complicated since the squeazy that you try to focus are obliterated by the others and the tanks do not get to lower their life enough to be able to eat them so you depend on your team to let you eat them or help you to eat objectives (baron, herald and drake), if you hit a Q at maximum range without flashing you don't reach the enemy even though he has been raised and later slowed down, hopefully they fix this character so that even building it to me full tank an adc lowers me from 3 hits and the only way to be able to play it being viable is to ap (virgin) and not tank (chad) as its original purpose
I watched an NA Player(Snoww) that plays on KR server for years now. He encountered that Chogath multiple times and that Cho was useless af. All he had to do was watching out for the Q and after that Cho was useless and got farmed.
2 reason: 1. This build is 1-shot type, the burn dmg from demonic is not that good 2. If he needs more AP, there are better options & he already has a lot of HP so he doesnt need HP from demonic
quick question : I recently became a cho mid main, but I never played him ap but only tank, and it always go pretty well, but is it viable or should I play ap ?
AP Cho sucks and doesn't scale well. Tank is better by far because you still 1 shot people with only Demonic Embrace. If you go Demonic first into Heartsteel then Sunfire you can 1 shot any carry or squishy if you land your abilities. The value that Demonic Embrace has is too good. AP is just not worth it since Cho has such high base damage already Demonic is the only thing u need to be able to pop squishies
If Aurelion Sol's E can get bigger with Startdust stack, then why Rito doesn't allow Cho'Gath Q to get bigger whenever he gets bigger with his R stacks? No place for monster champs now. They rather create or rework nice looking champs to sell skins than old champs like Skaner or Cho'Gath. Smh
I like that idea for his silence because when Cho'Gath use W when he's full size it doesn't seem to go very far since it's calculated from his center and not from his body. But you need to nerf something in return so it isn't broken
It's okay, but not as good as tank/bruiser cho in top, IMO. Toplane is all about creating/soaking enemy team pressure; AP Cho can't really do that as because he's really squishy compared to his Tank or Bruiser builds even with 10+ ult stacks, plus most top laners generally have better sustain/durability compared to most mid laners and are better at trading back. Both the Tank and Bruiser Cho builds work in Top because his E deals HP% damage and his W prevents enemy champs from fighting back. Maybe versus ranged tops it would work via the comet build.
