Got into tamas more heavily around 2018 and fell out of it right before ONs came out and 2020 hit. Just recently got back again and when it comes to prices, they were certainly always up there, often over 100 dollars, it is just that it has gotten worse, probably for the reasons you said. I have this! I love this video so much!! My tamasmart is the greenish colored one. I have a bunch of the smart cards for it. So it’s a great thing to have. I also have a ON, Meets, Pix and original gen 1 and gen 2. I love virtual pets so much lol Thanks for posting this video!!!
There is a trick to the touch screen! I'm sure if you read the manual by now, you know it, but here it is: The screen is divided into four corner 'quadrants'. So the options on the menu are placed directly in the touch sensor zones. I see in this video, you try to select/scroll in the center of the screen (I did too at first lol), but u will find the screen much easier to navigate if you stick to the corners!
I only gotten into collecting tamas 6 months ago and got my first tama for the same reason you got your gudetama tama. I got interested in the demon slayer nano because its demon slayer, i picked up my first one from a con. I so wish i got into tamagotchis sooner so I could've gotten an On before it got expensive. Though i am happy I got a Meets for £50 when its normally resold for £100+
Don’t let it charge more than it needs, a lot of people have issues with it breaking that way. Just a warning lol I recommend getting a few smart cards. You will definitely have a better experience. If that’s even possible because they are cute as is lol
Love this video! I just ordered the same smart today! It'll be my first tama I think? (I may of had one when I was little but I don't remember it) I'd love to get a pix, the idea of using a tamagotchi to take photos is so funny to me lol. Also rip your nail! A worthy sacrifice 🙏

If the Party Friends edition didn't exist I would have gone with the Niziu edition. It's sooo pretty!
