what was the purpose of that measurement you took? I have to assume that there needs to be a measurement taken to preload the smallest roller bearing, but the measurement you took wouldn't have really told you anything, you did not actually disassemble that portion of the assembly, so not surprisingly, that measurement did not change.
As for the "spacer" on the output shaft, that looks to me a lot like a crush sleeve, those are normally only to be used one time.
I'm not saying these guys did it wrong, and that this won't work, but there is definitely some missing info/steps here, so RUclipsrs and home mechanics be aware.

I have a low-mileage Element AWD transmission that I want to build for a turbo K24 wagon. My question to you is: What should I upgrade first? Should I reinforce the shift forks or upgrade them first? Should I go for this billet case first? Should I get some stronger gears inside before either of those? I have researched and found the b-series AWD transmission suffers from a weak transfer case, but I have yet to find a definitive answer for the weakest part of a K-series transmission. Any help is much appreciated. Keep up these amazingly detailed videos for us, man! Cheers!
I would say go with strong gears like gear x, and the kseries tcase is alot stronger then b but it depends what kind of power you will make

Did you get all 4 set of NEW OEM bearings for the case gearing or did you just get a new bearing for the transfer gear itself inside the tcase?
