May I ask what is the best period to visit the islands? I know the weather is much like in Scotland and Ireland changing much and can be cold or warm in a same day, but what periode would be most recommended? Also not too touristy but more hotel availability for spontaneous cruises around the isles instead of planning everything ahead of time
The most popular or best season is between May - August. The puffin colonies return to the islands, much more sunshine and opportunity for better weather. I did this trip in the beginning of September and had amazing weather for most of my time, unfortunately I did not get to see the puffins. I did a whole video explaining a visit to Faroe Islands here: ruclips.net/video/KmWYU0J7gug/видео.html

The Faroes are stunning. Home to one of my very favorite singers and musicians, Eivør. But try as I may, I just can't seem to wrap my head around Faroese. Finnish is much easier.
