- EP 268 | Is Loss Control All It Takes to Become Consistent? | Bryan Holdford
Paying to take and pass the Series 7 license as a teenager in the 1980’s led Bryan Holdford into the high commission world of stocks and options without mentors or the internet. Starting with investment newspapers Bryan tried many trading ideas without any risk controls. Despite frequent and numerous losses, he was hooked on the game of trading. Obsessive determination drives him to stay in the game despite a boom bust performance. Recently he seems to have found the right balance.

I have been listening to chat with traders for 4 years and this is my favorite one up till now. I love how this guy refused to quit.
Same
Didn't quit but it took him 30 years to realize that you have to cap risk
As the trader I most admire once said, "Everyone knows how to win, but not everybody knows how to lose. That's the key to being a successful trader."
Tom hougard ❤
I was gonna say john Moulton lol my favorite episode!
Rambo
Yes there is a lot of sense in that but for me even winning emotions should be avoided . Whatever the positive euphoria from winning feels like , the negativity will be exactly the same strength but in a negative way .
Most people trade their profit and loss and not the process . When they do their back testing band realise that a profit can be made they only see the end result . What they don’t see is the peaks and troughs on the journey and this is Walmart they can’t handle ❤

what a don. Love these traders who don't sound like stereotypical traders. Just a cowboy doing his thing. Legend.
You have big balls breaux. Real meaux feaux right here. Gotta dig it
This is one of the episodes that really makes me think and re-think about trading.
Thanks all !
This man has passion for real!
Great job on digging in with your questioning style for more information from Bryan, interesting listen.
And for getting back on track when the line of questioning was going off the rails. He is a great interviewer. For a little while I was having trouble listening when Aaron left, but he's winning me over.
Loss control is absolutely not enough, but a fundamental criteria to becoming consistent. You still need to have EDGE. Otherwise it is death by a thousand cuts.
These kind of interviews encourage traders. Thank you for your host and your team❤
BEST FUCKING TRADING STORY IVE EVER HEARD 43:00

Great episode, love these chat with traders! ❤
Resilience born from Passion... Thank you.
I think what the Gentleman needs is not a Coach or the learning of Loss Control.
Instead, it should be something more deep down needs to be fixed.
It is the "Real Meaning of Trading" should be to "Survive", and makes one's life grow !
Wish him all the best, and get away from the reliance on Luck.
Very practical trading tips around loss control. This is very useful. Thank you.
This one was so inspiring and relatable...Great🎉

Options selling has unlimited risks of losses whereas in options buying premium is the only loss you take.
You must new to option trading. Only naked sell has unlimited risk of lose.
