Who wouldn't want to drive certified BA Mike Ehrmantraut's car? If I wasn't already driving a 2000's Crown Vic, by this generation arguably the most refined of the road boats, I would totally be all over this.
I had a 1986 that I bought for $400. Drove it for 6 months, sold it to a buddy for $500 and then a year later bought it back for $500. Then drove it for another year. I actually really loved this car. It was super straight and super slow. My wife hated it. I Should have never sold it. Very cool.
Imagine getting it Hell Cat swapped with drive train.🤔I have a 1989 thinking about getting it restored probably just a rebuilt 318 or 340 in the engine bay tho of course with suspension/drivetrain upgrades.
Chrysler kept this GREAT "combo" for DECADES, A VERY WISE CHOICE! I have owned MANY cars in my 66 years, but these "318/Torqueflight" MoPars were BEST! The MOST DEPENDABLE, REALLY NICE DAY-TO-DAY VEHICLES!
I daily an 89 Fifth Avenue with a little over 60,500 miles. Drives like a dream. Delete the lean burn system, install Summit long tube headers, Edelbrock intake and a Demon 4 barrel carb and keep it. Picked mine up for $1,700. Love it.

What's unique about this 5th Avenue is that it's from 1987 which was the first model year where the car was actually built by AMC. Before Chrysler aquired AMC, Chrysler entered into a manufacturing agreement in 1986, .....then the following year, Chrysler aquired AMC. This was sort of the bridge that convinced themselves to buy AMC. They needed production capacity and they also realized AMC was a very good take over candidate. So this is a Kenosha Built by AMC Chrysler before Chrysler bought AMC! it's very unique!

When Daimler Benz bought and gutted Chrysler Benz sold the tech building and everything in it but because of a very logical law reversed the sale. The law states you must work in the benefit to the company and there was no way of proving this was but somehow it was fine to drain the retirement accounts for all the management, well just those who did not agree with fleecing Chrysler.
I had that same car. It was one of the best vehicles I've ever owned and I've owned Lots! Lexus ES300 is the only one I thought was better that I've owned
I'm 22 and just bought an 88 Fifth Ave for $1500. I absolutely love it. Rides like a cloud, looks good as hell, and the 318 is amazing. I got an 86 fifth avenue that my grandpa bought new and has been sitting since 2011 that I’ve been spending the last 6 months working on it to get it road worthy. Very nice car and you’re absolutely right about the seats lmao
Ok, so I'm the Johnny come lately of the group. I know it's been over two weeks, but I'm also one of the 6 people in the world that would love this car. Right after High School, I bought my first car from my great uncle (who was superintendent of the school I went to) a silver on chrome with a maroon interior 1987 Chrysler fifth avenue. It had 199,999 miles when I went to pick it up in 2000. I drove the wheels off of that thing, blew the stock engine after 50k miles, put a 360 out of a Ramcharger in it and drove it another 50,000 miles until one day a kid cut my brake lines, filled the tank with sugar and plugged my key holes with toothpicks and super glue (salty mf). It sat behind my family's garage for another five years until my father made me scrap it. I seriously miss that car. I have an opportunity to buy a white one locally for $650. I've been watching your videos for a while but somehow missed this one. If you'll take what I'm going to pay this guy, I'll fly to California, drive it back to Wisconsin and record the whole thing for your youtube channel. That's the best I can do, it'll be $350 for the plane ticket, and another $600-$700 in gas to drive it back.
I love the look of the car... I think it might be because it reminds me of some of the cars from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City so it's giving me a nostalgia feeling 😅
Back in the 90s a good friend of my mom's and myself would always go to the casino. He always had me drive his Fifth Avenue, White with maroon leather it was so much fun to drive and so cushy. I loved that car!!!!
I drove a '68 300 in the 2000s, a real full size Chrysler. Your car is about as big as my '72 Dart, with a 318. I had the cable mirror on the '68 and my '65 Park Lane. It's a great car, just showing some legitimate age. New rubber! It's not malaise, it's morning in America (Reagan era).
I had that with my NA 95 Miata a couple years back - blew a tire then realized the spare was pretty questionable as it was so old and never used. Got me home but I got a new spare as well as replacing the blown regular one in the end.

Unfortunately, from it sitting for so long. The gas cable and the emergency brake cable are frozen closed. The foot pedal is on the floor, so. I'm going to see if waiting until it warms up to see if that helps or if not, there's a little extra work I'm going to have to look into.

I just find that interesting since I owned a 91 fifth ave and the visability was impeccable, even drove it backwards out of a busy and slightly too small parking lot with confidance.
I know it is only two years later but I am looking for a 1985-1987 great shape Fifth Avenue. My first care was a Gunmetal Gray with Mark Cross gray leather 1985 Fifth Avenue. I loved the car but being at the time I knew very little about how to work on cars I sold it to my dumb ass brother who beat on it and then sold it for pennies on the dollar and still blames me for selling him a crap car. BUT I live in Michigan and I would need to see how much it would be to have it shipped or drive it all the way back, I do love driving though.
Donate it to a deserving student or working poor person who will appreciate it. It would also make a great movie prop if anyone is currently making a movie set in the 1980’s. Otherwise, you have a $1,500 car.
If you can't sell it for the amount you desire, fix it up and turn it into a "sleeper". Whether you keep the engine/transmission you have in it or replace it with a 440 or a modern Hemi. Nothing better than having an old "grandpa" sleeper car and leaving a Mustang, Camaro or Challenger in the dust.
"I finally got the thing to pass emissions" that there my friend is why no one wants electronically carbureted vehicles. I had an 85 Fifth Avenue in Nevada. Was a great vehicle minus having to work on it every year to pass emissions. I ended up giving it away for free because every day you're one day closer to test week.

Trust me i would if i could. One thing that really worries me is its horrid blind spot and tiny rear window. I'll stick with my Diplomat
Yeah the tiny rear window is pretty ridiculous :)
@@HelloRoad i truely hope you save her though. See if you can take it to one more radwood before you part ways.
I just find that interesting since I owned a 91 fifth ave and the visability was impeccable, even drove it backwards out of a busy and slightly too small parking lot with confidance.
@@HelloRoad watching this vid again and having regrets i didn't buy it and transport it over here 😔 i only hope you donating it helped someone in need
Very crisp quality video for 1080p. What camera is used? Was it filmed with higher res?
This was filmed a couple years back on my Canon 80D. 1080p :)
Ship it to the UK ! I’ll give you £5000 (Stirling ) $6931 in US dollars for it ! Look great with my ‘88 Dodge Diplomat ! Love your channel sir !😀👍🇺🇸🇬🇧
I WANT IT!!!!!!!!
Donate it to a deserving student or working poor person who will appreciate it. It would also make a great movie prop if anyone is currently making a movie set in the 1980’s. Otherwise, you have a $1,500 car.
I would love to buy that... if only I had 2000 dollars.
Hey these are the best cars I got one myself
Offer it to Doug DeMuro!
I love mine I just wish there were good mechanics out there:(
If you can't sell it for the amount you desire, fix it up and turn it into a "sleeper". Whether you keep the engine/transmission you have in it or replace it with a 440 or a modern Hemi. Nothing better than having an old "grandpa" sleeper car and leaving a Mustang, Camaro or Challenger in the dust.
Restore it !!!!!
Wish I'd seen it
So did you sell it yet or not? I had one with 336 thousand miles on it
Yeah, sorry it's gone!!
I am actually interested in it. Would have to drive it back to North Carolina. Think it’d make the trip?
"I finally got the thing to pass emissions" that there my friend is why no one wants electronically carbureted vehicles. I had an 85 Fifth Avenue in Nevada. Was a great vehicle minus having to work on it every year to pass emissions. I ended up giving it away for free because every day you're one day closer to test week.
In NYC, after 25 years we don't need emissions tests anymore but then again this is California we're taking about. Fruitcake capitol of the planet.
I had one identical color and all I was happy to get rid of it .
