I lost two brothers murdered because of gang violence before they reached their 20s. Cousins incarcerated. They kids going to jail. Dad was on drugs. Family was homeless on the streets most of the time. It's not glamorous it's grimey. I dropped out of high school and was honestly headed for the grave too but lucky that some people helped me get my GED. Went in the military, got into college, finished with a degree in Sociology and just graduated law school. I love the people but hate the streets. It's not "cool." It's not "fun."
