The First Amendment protects the rights of individuals and institutions from the government. Not from other individuals and insitituations.
The Constitution begins:
"Congress shall make no law..." not "you must allow reporters to comply with their demands at any time."
They should not be allowed to restrict access to a public area.
They're no more than terrorists!
The only use for the area is specifically to protest. So...why else would one want to go in so badly? To cut propoganda and incite violence.

this would be illegal. various penal codes about public nuisance. blocking public areas etc. what you should do is call the police and issue penal code violations to all of the people there especially the ones blocking others from entering. then let the perpetrators fight their citations in court.
Penal Code 372 says, “Every person who maintains or commits any public nuisance, the punishment for which is not otherwise prescribed, or who willfully omits to perform any legal duty relating to the removal of a public nuisance, is guilty of a misdemeanor.”

My daughter is a student living on campus at UCLA and she said that this is ridiculous. She has classes in Royce Hall and can’t enter the building. She said all the people camped there are not students. She said random students will show up and hold signs, but the organizers are not students and they are very aggressive and very angry and things are getting significantly worse. She has many Jewish friends that are afraid to walk on campus. I can’t believe it has gotten this far. Free speech doesn’t mean camping out indefinitely…. Just shameful

@@henlohenlo689 The First Amendment is actually relevant to all state action affecting speech, and even some private action when it is thoroughly entangled with the government or that serves a traditionally public function. Here, this is a public university, a school run by the state government. Because of that, public forum doctrine is relevant and thus, the First Amendment is involved. This is most likely a traditional public forum, where the rights of free speech and free press would be at their strongest. Most likely, these reporters have every right to be there even absent any California Penal Code like the one you cite.
Your view is highly restricted and incorrect. You should research some SCOTUS jurisprudence on the First Amendment, because much of it doesn't deal directly with laws passed but other forms of state action.

If this college gets support from the State and/or US government, then it is public property, outside. Since this is a state run university, the outside should be open to the public.

Students who can't attend classes on campus should file a class lawsuit against the school. The school created an unsafe environment by harboring people who aren't students or claim to be students but have no intention of learning.
I would gladly give them a refund and tell them to never come back.
