Ice Cream Afternoon Tea?! Trying Ripples on P&O Iona plus the Children's' Tea & exploring Rotterdam!

- Join us for our first port day in the stunning Rotterdam! Inspired by the brilliant Travel Blog Jamie and Paul & Carole Love to Travel - links to their videos below - we explore some of Rotterdam's sights (and flavours!).
Back on board we have a full schedule, including the famous Ripples Ice Cream Afternoon tea, exploring Iona's upper decks and shops, the excellent Children's Tea at the Horizon Buffet (a real must for anyone sailing with young children), the superb Rise acrobatic show in the Sky Dome, and late night snacks at The Quays.
Keep your eyes peeled for our easy to follow demonstration of how to use the contactless door openers/locks on the public toilets throughout the ship - this catches more than a few people out!

It's so great to have an overnight in Rotterdam. I love those Christmas lights around the Sky Dome pool. Great to see Markthal again. it;s such a lovely place to visit. Those cake stalls were amazing - our girls got free mini cupcakes too. Afternoon tea looked lovely. Must try that on Arvia! Lovely video guys - really enjoyed watching.

Absolutely- we will definitely do another overnight stop at Rotterdam! P&O definitely do Xmas decorations very well - it really got us feeling festive 😀
We were determined to visit the Markthal and were not disappointed! The people there were lovely, and the food amazing 😍😋
Oh definitely try the ice cream afternoon tea 🍵 It was a lot of fun and so different, but very very filling! It would particularly lovely on a carribean or summer med cruise... 😍

We completely agree - Iona is a fantastic ship and the dining is superb! Arvia looks really exciting - lots of what makes Iona great plus some new features and dining venues 😀 We suspect we will have more than 1 cruise on her 😅
Loved Rotterdam when we stopped with Iona. The Markthal was fabulous and the cubed houses ? Different. One of my favourite cities I must say. Can’t wait to visit again next year.
We couldn't agree more! We will absolutely be going back to the Markthal as soon as well can 😀 Different is definitely the word for the cubed houses - they are certainly worth checking out 😊

@@MarinaAndJoeGo it’s another cruise identical to the one we were on. Should have gone back on Iona last February for half term break but a family emergency happened. We are hoping to sail back next April (2023). Bruges is stunning as well and looking forward to visiting there again but the vibe you get from Rotterdam is something else.

@@MarinaAndJoeGo thank you all has worked out well thankfully and yes we are actually heading to Amsterdam on Ventura, our first ship cruised on, in 32 days 😬 so really looking forward to an overnight stay there. We are studying walk through son RUclips and pinpointing areas of interest and everything looks so nearby. A few hours walking should do it.

Rotterdam is an amazing city and definitely worth a visit 😊 Amsterdam is stunning too - one of the great things about this itinerary is that it has an overnight stay in Rotterdam, allowing you to visit both cities if you want 😊

That sounds fantastic 🤩 The Markhal is absolutely brilliant - visually stunning, and with superb food 😋 We would happily go back to Rotterdam and spend a whole day in there (our waistlines might be less thrilled 😅). Hopefully the cube houses are open again now - they are so unusual, and from what we've seen on other people's videos they are even more eccentric inside!
Sharing am ice cream afternoon tea is definitely the way to go - we've not heard of anyone finishing one all by themselves (yet 😁)

Thats very exciting 😀 Where are you cruising to? We've had 2 cruises on Iona (our Northern Europe cruise and a short UK staycation last August) and really enjoyed both 😊

@@MarinaAndJoeGo Iona is doing trips to Norway until mid-September and that's where I am going in May. Can't wait. It will be my first on Iona but I have taken more than 10 cruises previously. Happy cruising in the futire to you and please post more videos!
