My good friend Isaac. We played in a band together for 5yrs. We also did this song. Dave Carter sang it on one of our albums.. Isaac kills it. I miss him

Tom, it's OK to say which band! I remember seeing you guys not long after First Train to California came out in Oak Lawn (Wild Goose?) True magic. I can still feel it right as I type. Funny how music does so much. Thanks for some real memories. Anybody who doubted the chops of your group can put that aside with this rendition. It was easy to get the revolving members confused for us kids. Now I have to see if Dave Carter shows up on youtube.

Tom, I think that lineup was with Lennie Kerley as well, right? You all made some music that has held up for 50 years. What memories!

With "A MASTER'S FOOL" Isaac Guillory proved himself one of the greatest songwriters and lyricist/poets in history. The brilliance of that musical masterpiece stands out fifty years later.

One of the nicest guys you could ever wish to meet. Feel incredibly privileged to have shared a few j's and a caught a good few gigs over the years. So tragic he was taken so soon, but his name lives on with my son. Still so often in my heart and mind. x

Thanks so much for posting these videos. We used to see Issac perform every time he visited the Colchester area. I also saw him at the Cambridge folk festival. He was such a lovely person, a brilliant singer songwriter and guitarist. Taken much too soon, such a loss to the music world.

Oh yes, ............ the first time I saw him...... in a room so small, I could touch him. I never missed a chance to see him after that.......... no i lie, he was doing a gig at Whitley Bay, sometime in November , or early December, Whitley Bay, I was busy, real busy. I thought 'I'll catch him next time'. I was wrong, he was gone on New years eve. I was beside myself (Geordie expression ), if I could see him one more time (who has not said that), well I can now thanks to this. Thank you poster.

Isaac here doing his demolition-job intro on the noisier elements in the audience, then the impassioned version of the Hoagy Carmichael song (about to be followed up by "Bad News"). Fabulous Posting! Thanks!
(I was always a bit troubled by Hoagy's physics in this one. -40F = -40C, by which temp. mercury would have solidified .. but, hey. Great song!)

Not even joking, i have a good mate who can play this as good as isaac could, he used to see him play and learned it by ear. He has never joined a band and only plays to friends in all my years i have never seen anyone play a guitar with such ease.

But even so - talent has to get out to play out - and Isaac got out regardless of the conditions
