    Very good video. I'm a cop in America and I think it is a shame that our governments have made it difficult for Russians and Americas to be friends. We should unite against Our mutual radical enemies and not let government propaganda separate us. Thank you for your very instructive videos. I have just subscribed to your channel

      well, nice to see these techniques, but our mutual enemies as you say are not in the forests....in the forests, the pure energy of nature attracts mostly good natured people. where, on the contrary, is a lot of scoundrels and egos is around bars, discotheqes, etc, that is- in the middle of towns....so the axe-I doubt you will have it on you all the time....and those mutual enemies you mention are in skycrapers or wherever the owners of corporations or whatever use to be...also in high politics....so axe is actually for fights against us ourselves....this is just good fun, playing around with axe or tomahawk or knife, bu t it is not for resolving our poor state of being in which rich politicians and other from high towers got us to...the fight lays in togetherness and awareness and all these if you want "more spiritual " features of man, not in playing around with an axe or knife...

      @@jurajkovacik2430 If society crumbles it might only be weeks before the unfit and the low lives move out of the cities and into the forests scavenging for food and resources, it is incredibly naive to think that everyone you encounter in the woods will be peaceful and helpful. in hard times and a fight for survival, people turn ruthless. I wont even go into the details but believe me they are not pleasant. Its not playing with axes and knives its TRAINING for self defense and the defense of others. of course not all we do is train but we educate ourselves, we plan what to do, where to go, and who to rely on as allies when the world gets turned upside down. if it ever happens you will be glad that good honest people have a plan. dont be naive friend, pick up an axe and learn to defend yourself!

      We use Axes also in Finland, and my great grand-father actually helped kill a Russian soldier with an axe, during the siege of Leningrad. [he kept it as a souvenir]

      +RL 2D - Thank you for the kind words! Yes, there isn't many videos about axe fighting, mainly because this style of combat has been largely forgotten. We are one of the few who are reviving it. For Slavic, Nordic and European people Axe is a historic weapon of national importance, much like the Samurai sword to the Japanese. We are bringing it back to our culture!

    ive watched each of your Axe Videos, and i appreciate your lessons. they promote an understanding of what is considered an unwieldy weapon. the Use of swing position, handle sliding, are very well explain.
    i do SCA fighting myself, and have found the Axe Quite terrifying to use vs Opponents (as they will not allow me to perform head blows, nor are ankle shots. realistically you'd want to immobilize an armored opponent.)
    the Thrust is absolutely devastating from an Axe. if you survive the initial first strikes in the encounter with your opponent. a 2-4 pound object being crammed into their shield can screw their angle of attack up.
    Mobility is key. (even in CQB) a stationary warrior is a dead one in a 1v1 fight. thrust in to the face (they shield block,limited vision now) side stepping to the side your momentum carries you and dropping the haft to short grip to revers strike their side (and letting the have slide up as you swing if need be.) Hook the shield, pull them off balance, thust, bowl them over with a trip and bob is your uncle.
    the weight of an axe is brutal in its impact vs. Armoured and unarmoures opponents. it is a sharp edged bludgeoning beast that folds armour, knocks people back, can Hook and pull, and like a staff or spear, can change length in a strike (albiet not as extreme, but it can.)
    love the videos. i may just have to make one myself.

    • @Tamoikin
      @Tamoikin  8 лет назад +1

      +Arles Tippie - Thank you for such a great comment! I really appreciate your feedback and advice. You absolutely have to make a video and not just one, as you SURELY have a lot of experience and knowledge to share. I would eagerly watch it (them). Axe is indeed a powerful weapon. I like it because it's so widely available, has no legal restrictions and can be extremely effective in the hands of a professional. Axes are a also tools so in a survival situation they can act as a handheld and a ballistic weapon as well as a construction instrument.
      Stay strong and dangerous ;)
      Cheers!

      +Arles Tippie - What are your thought's on the issue the optimal weight for a combat axe? Light axes are more advantageous, but with strong-modern-light Kevlar, fiberglass and plastic body armor - a heavy becomes absolutely necessary. Your thoughts or experiences...?

    What is wrong with fighting for honor? And glory for that matter? These virtues are Worth far more to me than my own Life. Привет, товарищ. After watching your series on How to fight with an axe, I would like to say you are off to a great start. But, some constructive criticism from someone who practices the aspect Viking Combat HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts). First off, this is great defense against your average street thug with a knife or whatever, who generally does not know how to fight well. That being said, In my opinion you're over doing alot of your movements, expelling more energy than is needed. The Human Body is a relatively soft target and does not take alot of energy to damage. So work on expelling less energy to achieve a similar result. SECONDLY, Now to me this is the bigger one. A bearded axe, makes a great grappling weapon and there is ALOT you can do with various hooks and binds to manipulate your adversary in close quarters. Which can come in very handy against people who may know how to pery and block your blow if they have a sword, bat, club, crow bar etc.. Just some tips i figured id point out. Thanks again!

      +kidddogbites I totaly agree with what you said. I noticed he could change the shape of the axe to add a horn to it. Then forget the spike. Of all of these 3 videos. I like the first one the most.

    So I've recently started getting into the whole axe/hawk thing. I like it for a survival/combat tool. I have a small sog hawk and have some basic boxing training so for cq training I've been shadow boxing with my right hand up right under the head of the axe. It feels very simple and effective. I like your videos because I feel like I can Incorporate your techniques into my training very easily and your first two videos helped me extend my range when I'm out in the open. I like your style man!

    HAHAHAH AXE NOT GOOD IN CQC? ASK YOURSELF THIS QUESTION: Do YOU want to be in a room with a man with an axe that will try to kill you? im guessing no, IF YOU SAY YES >> WATCH THE SHINING and RE-RESPOND
    think also the indians, Tomahawk? not a good weapon?
    with a knife i would not feel safe enough to fight an axeman, my short reach might easily cost me one of my hands if my opponent manages to chop precise (not the whole hand cut off ofcourse just so badly damaged that i would need immediate medical attention...)

How big a blade as handle? Basically what would be your go to in a perfect world? I’m thinking some kind of bearded would be useful like what you demonstrate. Thanks you

    • @Tamoikin
      @Tamoikin  6 лет назад +1

      Small axes are great. I like them. When it comes to what is better, it depends greatly on your skill, preference and objective. If you are comfortable with an axe, carry an axe. Sometimes you can only carry a tiny knife, that is OK too. I tell people that you have to train with all weapons: axes, knives, spears, swords, firearms.... because Murphy's law will make sure that you have only a nail when you need a AK.
