Filipinos just love this song, now Poland has captured the hearts of Filipinos because of this song and the well love POPE John Paul II who was also from Poland... Philippines really love music... even if the people don't understand the lyrics of the songs, as long as the tunes and melodies captured their attention, it will surely become a hit.. like French song from Larusso, chinese songs , spanish, even African music.. filipinos are such music lovers...Peace to our beloved Polish Friends...
I'm not sure if you would be aware of this but this dance originates from my country, ie Poland. The song was first performed by Urszula Dudziak. It's amazing how in this globalised world the achievements of one culture are adopted by another. Well done the Filipino Army for this coordinated display.
To clk: It's only a dance! No one is saying anything bad about your country, these soliders are merely dancing "papaya", a dance popular around the world to a piece of music globally popular as well. That's all. Chill.
I still can't believe it... our beloved good old papaya song (correct, I'm Polish)... and today philippinese soldiers are dancing to this (and so are some inmates). Now that's a mad world.
Okay, I love this video. In the begining I was like..."uh...great." then when they started dancing I started cracking up. Nice one. The son g is still catchy but I STILL think that it's never going to end...
Papaya ist ein Fusion-Titel, der von der polnischen Sängerin Urszula Dudziak komponiert und 1976 im Disco-Genre ein Hit wurde. 2008 wurde ein Tanz, der auf dem gleichen Stück beruht, populär.
this isn't the first time i saw the philippine army dance. i remember back when ramos was the president, the army surprised the president with a dance during one of the parades... can't remember if it was the army anniversary or independence day... anyway, they're good and it's nice to see them have a little clean fun
Yup we knew it is a polish song. They just popularized it one TV station here in the Philippines. The tune is like a typical 70s filipino pop tune, that is why easily been accepted and popularized here. And other countries, thanks to U tube.
well, we acknowledge that this dance hits originated in Poland, but we must not forget that the steps were made and choreograph by a Filipino. Mabuhay ka kabayan!
nakakatuwa naman, sikat na sikat na itong PAPAYA DANCE, hanggang america ginagaya na! i'm very happy that this dance was originally performed by a filipino in the person of edu manzano. let's all be glad that we are contributing a good exercise and dance to the world. mabuhay ang PINOY! from here in canada we congratulate all the pinoys!
Urszula Dudziak-Jej piosenka Papaya (1976) stała się w roku 2007 popularna w Azji i Ameryce Łacińskiej, gdzie dodano do niej charakterystyczny taniec Papaya Dance. In 2007, Dudziak's classic 1970s song "Papaya" saw a resurgence in popularity in the Philippines where it was regularly featured in a local noontime TV game show entitled Pilipinas, Game KNB?.
that was great! Phil. army are not always serious, defending our nation...they too are real Filipinos happy people in nature despite the adversities in life. Go Filipinos!
Uśmiałem się, kiedy Dudziak w "Jaka to melodia" opowiadała, iż będąc na Filipinach usłyszała od Filipińczyków, że byli przekonani, że ona to śpiewa po polsku ;)
