Oh god that hair brushing sound brought me back to when I progressively ripped my hair out as a teen brushing it improperly. I didn’t listen to my mom when she said “sounds like you’re ripping it.” Took me years to get that section of my hair back. 😅 it’s ok to mess up like that once, just don’t be like me who did it regularly.
Just one point... us curly haired gals, you gotta brush from the ends upwards. Get a section in your hands and brush from your hand down and so forth. Pains me to see curly hair brushed from roots down . Painful!!!😮😢
Actually, every tangled hair should be brushed from the ends :) I hope the therapist in this video gets to know this too! cuz my hairstylist in Korea shared this information with me and warned me to never untangle my hair from the roots~~😊
Yea I mean it’s east Asia and after watching lots of these u can definitely tell that their hair treatments are designed for straight hair that gets oily. I’m glad she tried it anyway though
As a Malaysian, I would say its possible. Very rarely do we see hair this curly . Not on locals anyway. But customers can give feedback if its uncomfortable, am sure they would adjust the service accordingly. FYI , I didnt notice anything " off " about the brushing. Likely because my hair is likw the stylist's. I mean I wouldnt know😂 I thought she was doing it carefully and slowly. With straight hair they run through it fast.
@@mahgisits not illegal to turn away a customer because they dont feel they have the skills to handle it and as you can see from the commemts some of them are the kind of potentially complaining customers our stylists would rather not serve. I’m in California and I’m really considering opening one of these parlors. Anyone think they would go to one in California? Paying $200- $300 for this type of service plus hair styling??
Would you prefer they try or turn you away? Likely they won't have the right tools for your hair. Am just asking out of curiosity because I was there when my stylist turned away an African American customer and she was upset, called it Racism. My stylist had previously had an unpleasant encounter with another African American customer, it didn't go well and the customer got mad. Usually these videos are relaxing, and this one is too to a certain extent, I just seriously hated the brush she was using in her hair omg 😭😩certain brushes aren’t for her kind of hair and it really sounded like she was tearing her hair up, which is what those brushes tend to do to curly hair (any curl pattern)
In Malaysia most of us have straighr hair and they even use scrub brushes for washing at some salons. Am sure they would havd told her abt the process and maybe she was ok with it. Seems to be
@@lindc1070 well, either way, Cleo abrams seems to be more than a bit perturbed by anyone who had concerns about her hair being damaged if you notice the comments she liked under this particular video. None of us were bashing her at all, but she seems deeply offended by our comments as if we were insulting her and everyone else who took part in the video. Very weird.
@@midnightgardenmysteries5916 maybe this is because she didnt find the brushing a problem at all? I am Asian so honestly I cant tell if it would have been an issue for her. As for her reaction to the comments... I really dont know, didnt notice this earlier.
@@lindc1070 I don’t even want to keep dragging this out, so I’m just going to say this. U can literally hear how it was damaging to her hair when it was being brushed when it’s dry, and it was a totally different sound when that same brush went through it when it was damp. I understand that the majority of ppl in Malaysia have straight hair, it’s the attitude that no one can (or should) comment when something seems off when someone who is used to doing straight hair does something potentially damaging to a hair texture that isn’t like theirs. But as u said, Cleo obv doesn’t give af (and is actually annoyed that it was brought up) and I don’t care *that* much, I just made my comment and called it day. Am Asian living in Singapore, grew up in Malaysia. They are willing to try here, but as you can see from comments here some weren't happy with the brushing. If they have a bad experience with one or two African origin customers who complain, they lose confidence and thereafter will reject anyone of African origin with hair in 3 or 4 range. It happened with my hair dresser. Fact is they are open to feedback, so they would prefer the customer tell them if something doesn't feel right. However some services particular to Africans like braiding, they might not do. Also for rebonding their products are for our Asian hair type.
If ur scalp is burning after shampoo that’s contact dermatitis basically an allergic reaction to the shampoo probably fragrance or some element in the shampoo it’s probably not the strength of the shampoo itself that can dry the skin but not usually cause a reaction like that. Try fragrance free shampoo or fragrances you can tolerate better

Let me guess, they only do hair that look like yours. 🙄 In this day & age, it’s truly sad that you can’t enjoy the things such as getting a hair massage because they only cater to a certain type of hair texture. I’m grateful for the people who make this type of issue a priority and proceed to make change in doing the 1st steps to expand stuff like this to cater to other race of people and all hair textures.
At this spa they are really professional at what they do and they can do any hair type and not only one certain hair type. I asked them this question while I was there and they don’t mind the type of hair you have. So anyone is welcome 😊
No it's not sad. They do hair that they are acustomed to. How you rolling your eyes like it's their duty to cater to all hair types. Do you think they have black people walking through their doors in South East Asia? Maybe black institutions, salons need to implement these kind of treatments so you don't feel left out.
Well seeing as this salon is in Asia in assuming they haven't been educated on our hair bc they probably don't see it often. They should expand their knowledge on other hair textures, but she got the job done and did it well. Ofc I can imagine the brushing was probably very uncomfortable since she brushed it from the roots down and did it while it was completely dry, but you gotta give her some credit.
In Malaysia😂? Its hard to find hair that looks like hers. Its super curly by our standards. We are mainly 1A to 1C. 90% of us have hair like the stylist. Even those with wavy or curly hair would be in 2A to C range. Some salons even use scrub brushes to wash hair which in her case would have led to tangling.
