    Was also scammed. The bits are absolutely useless. I do a lot of commercial metal door installs in grouted solid metal frames. As everyone knows, when you’re drilling through steel that is against masonry- if you don’t catch it just at the right time, you run the steel bit through the masonry and it’s ruined. This companies product caught my attention and I purchased for the specific scenario, since they have loads of videos - one example is drilling through a rotor backed by a CMU block. Total lie, but hooked and reeled me in. Never again. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS OVER PRICED TRASH

      It's easy to sharpen normal HSS drill-bits after they have kissed concrete/similar materials. - but, of course it will take some time . I don't think any type of "magic" bit will cut steel - and then stay sharp after running right into any kind of abrasive material. ( So I would rather bring some cheap rotary-grinder with me for sharpening - when needed

    I did business with a local company that had been around 80 + years. It was the place I always went for glass. I had suspected that the owner died the family took over. Due to the change in attitude from the employees and their service. Turns out I was right. They went out of business after a few years. The problem is the family members that were left running the business didn't want to be there and didn't have the skin in the game that their elders had. They had no passion or desire for the business As the business starts to go down the drain, selling it becomes more difficult and the problem escalates until finally the doors are shut for good. It's really sad. I have seen it happen to food establishments more commonly. I didn't believe they are out to scam anyone, they just don't care and are not going to go to any extra effort to take care of you. It's done out of laziness and not some kind of trickery. Sad.
    That said, I have seen businesses taken over by family that do respect the efforts of their forefathers and do an excellent job with businesses. Sometimes they exceed their elders success.

    I totally agree with you. My bits was very wobbly so I tried to return the bits but got the run around. I'm at very busy person so just getting on the phone to bug them is a waste of my time. They blame me for not using the bits correctly. So I ended keeping the bits. I tried using them a few more times, one broke so now I just have them at home collecting dust. I'd listen to this guy here. Truth.

I saw some YT short showing the demo and I was like "wow lifetime warranty on a bit how is that possible" and you answered every question-the cost of shipping both ways for a product that never worked in the first place would deter anyone from actually using it. Just wanted to leave a comment and let you know that your video was one of the first to pop up for me when I looked for reviews on here, and definitely cost them a sale. I hope this scratches your rage itch! I felt my pulse increase just listening to your story 😂

  • @ianjd27

    The bad dog bits are modified masonry bits. They have a carbide tip that is sharpened so it can cut metal. It is never going to be as fast cutting as a 135 degree split point bit but because of the carbide tip it’ll go through concrete. The tip is more filing through material rather than cutting the material. They’re good for if you’re going through a metal frame with concrete behind it. That dewalt bit would be toast if it touched concrete. These bits have their place but I wouldn’t say they are a replacement for someone who mainly drills metal.

    I saw videos of these bits everywhere thinking they are great but I think i figured it out.
    This company has all these tests showcasing its performance in the different metals, tiles etc however they aren’t being honest whatsoever.
    I believe they swap all the metals for aluminum, and the so called porcelain for some cheap garbage tile. Their bits resemble masonry bits, they would not be able to cut so quickly into hardened steel and porcelain like their videos show. They drill through a hardened file in 5 seconds. That’s simply not possible, even a cnc grade metal bit wouldn’t be able to accomplish that and they have cooling systems, not to mention these claims with the bits don’t use any cutting oil.
    I think their grinder wheel might be legit but those bits are complete scams.
    If they wanna go out and charge 180 for bits they better at least be able to hold up to their claims. I don’t think companies should be allowed to advertise this bullshit.

    Enjoyed the video and feel for you, but at the end you were trying to compare a Dewalt HSS Ti coated, to a carbide bit. Carbide bits are only supposed to cut with the tip into very hard material and work more like a shovel chipping away at it rather than a knife slicing a spiral off. That stated, it is a low quality bit and inexcusable that they off-center sharpened it, or even thought they could sharpen it at all instead of sending you a new bit... Then again, the replacement would be crap quality too so it wasn't worth a second spent. Don't buy this type of tool from obscure companies, instead stick to the major brands.

    I agree company very shady, I looked and I am not sure they are even bbb(better business bureau) rated, first clue. I bought the larger set of drill bits and had to resend several bits back unused because the carbide inserts where brazed in crooked, not the same height and one even had missing carbide and 2 had the carbide brazed deeper than the drill bit shank so they would not even make contact. They obviously brazed these by hand without a jig or anything and their quality control is non existent. Some where sharpened like your bit with the point way off center. They sharpen these just like they do at the trade shows with a diamond disc grit about 24 chucked in a hand held drill, talk about a fly by night outfit. They where giving me crap about replacing defective bits that had not even been used yet so I went to a trade show and waited for a big crowd at the demo then when they stated you can save the mailing fees by giving these defective bits at the trade show and they would swap them out, I handed them my bits and with many people still there from the demo and they replaced them on the spot, one they swapped me was no good so they reswapped it. Note to do this on the first days of the trade show because many people do this and they will run out of replacment bits. You can do a better job sharpening these with more care and a much finer mesh size diamond disc like 180 or 220 grit.

  • @luckysevenairammo1217
    @luckysevenairammo1217 4 месяца назад

    The disks are really good, i have the 3" HD2 the thing is amazing as far as durability and longevity is concerned. I bought mine at a country fair near my house, mad dog has been there every year since i can remember. I finally wore it out after cutting and grinding through what seemed to be miles of steel and rust. They replaced it no questions asked. The drill bits do suck though. They are high speed high pressure bits and do better on a strong drill press cranked up as fast as it will spin. They can't be compared to a twist drill. But under high pressure will drill a hole through a broken off tap.

    You have to use a corded drill to get enough speed & torque. It is high speed 2500rpm , heat and pressure required. They work great if used according to their requirements to drill through thick hardened steel. Do not use impact for steel. I honestly have had great experience with customer service. I purchased these and so far they have worked out. They are not a replacement for all bits. They have their place. They will drill slower than most higher end drill bits, but they are great to use when you are worried about snapping a bit or hitting something behind the metal that would normally ruin a bit. I have tested then on some very hard steel and they worked. They did work much better at very high RPM.
