I was a somewhat disillusioned Seahawk fan back in those days so I was on board the Air Coryell bandwagon. I was a young fan so I didn't know a whole lot about football yet but like most young fans, it was all about scoring points. That's what interested me. Easley changed all of that. He made me a huge fan of defensive play and like you, he became my all time favorite Seahawk. In his prime, particularly from '83 through '86, he was like a bigger, stronger and more violent version of Ronnie Lott. I feel comfortable saying that because Lott himself would probably concur. Lott had the utmost respect for Easley and the phenomenal talent he was. #45 forever!!
This guy was one of the very best the NFL has seen, sadly his illness cut his career short. I’m glad he was put in the Hall of Fame and our ring of honor. Thank you for everything MR. Kenny Easley.
Kenny Easley, Steve Atwater, Ronnie Lott, Brian Dawkins, and Ed Reed the 5 greatest Safeties to ever play the game. In whatever order you want to put them. My order would be 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e.. Loved to hear him say he was the enforcer and it was his job to enforce pain on the other team... I' tell people all the time that is what a Strong Safeties job is. TO make sure everybody knows it's his field and they must pay a price to be on it..
Kenny Easley: 1983 AFC Defensive Player Of The Year, 1984 NFL Defensive Player Of The Year. He beat out Lawrence Taylor to get it. He had to retire at 28-years-old because of failing kidneys.
Legend speaks. One the hard hitting, ferocious string of safeties that ruled NFL in 1980s. Easley, Ronnie Lott, Steve Atwater and David Fulcher to name a few.
I sent a hand written letter and he sent back a signed picture with a hand written letter. I was shocked but I think that shows who is as a great person
It was a shame the way previous ownerships treated Kenny. Thanks to the Allen family and current management for recognizing Kenny's contribution to this franchise.
You're Damn Right! You weren't the enforcer. You ARE the Enforcer! Always and Forever Kenny! 45, I am 56, and you are still the ONLY poster on my wall...!
#45 is a Seahawk legend #45, #80, #79, #96, #71, #37, #31, #56, #24, #3, #54, #50... 3 players were not included for departing like assholes: #76, #25, #29.
@@stephenjstclair Yes on #28 but no on Dave Kraig. He is still Seahawks leader on career fumbles and once held the NFL record. Also 199 interception. Most of those legends will be in the HOF. Kraig is lucky to make the ring of honor.
My all-time favorite Seahawk. I loved watching him play. I have at least 4 Easley jerseys. I named my dog Easley. The greatest Seahawk of all-time.
Steve Largent
Like Easley a beast for them
