Sri Lanka has produced some of the finest Pilots in the world. Captain Deepal Goonatilake is no exception. As they say in aviation, there are bold Pilots and old Pilots. There are no old-bold Pilots. You have to really love what you do to be flying for 33 years and stay on top of your game to be flying large passenger transport aircraft. Congratulations Captain Deepal!

You know, I was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka and whenever I fly I choose Sri Lankan Airlines if they go that route. Other people praise other airline companies but, for me, Sri Lankan Airlines encapsulates the best of my country of birth. The staff, the atmosphere and the kind of people who go on this airline whether economy, business or first warms my heart, frozen almost to death in the UK. :)
My dad will also B retiring soon after serving in the Kenyan police force 4 almost 40 yrs. I would love such an enormous amount of grace in my electrical engineering career which is about 2 begin.
