The opening on the back of the cover on cover allows you to get into the back cover pocket. :). Also, you can put one pen through both pen loops and it will keep your planner closed. :)
Love it! The smaller planners are totally my jam! The Day Free does seem like the perfect content planner! Have fun experimenting with all the planners and stationery things.
I ordered the 2024 A5 cousin from Amazon - it was slightly more expensive but as I'm a prime member it was shipping free - I do have to wait until the 15th of this month though - doesn't matter as I won't be using it until January! PS - I'm in the UK so where I could order from was slightly different from the US
I came across the A6 Jan start while I visited Wonder Pens for the first time. It’s a great little planner. But I found that some days I needed more room to write. I moved to the A5 Avec this year and I’m happy with that size. I feel like I’m missing out on the Hobonichi buying as I ordered the Sterling Ink Common Planner for 2024.
Loved this, per usual. I’m doing something similar this year with my Hobos. Have you heard of the Avec? It’s just like the Cousin and the A6 planner, except that the full year is in two books. Because it’s two books, each book is thinner. I have used a Cousin for two years and LOVED it, but now I want to fit a planner and a notebook into my Mina Perhonen cover (the Anemone - same one you have. I’m completely in love with those embroidered flowers, sigh). So this year I’ll be putting an A5 notebook and the A5 Avec into my gorgeous cover. The notebook will be for meeting/training notes, and the Avec will mostly be daily work tasks. I have a lot of daily deadlines, so I need the full-page dailies. I’m honestly not sure how I survived pre-Hobonichi. I’ve used so many other planners, and this one is EVERYTHING. Love the paper, the Monday start, the chonk of a stickered-up bunch of memories.
I ordered the 2023 original and the new a6 “have a nice day” cover from Amazon to test out before buying the 2024 original in the new English version once it’s released later this year. I got them today and I’m in love!! I wanted a smaller daily and didn’t even know a daily only existed until going down the hobonichi youtube rabbit hole and I’m so glad!!
Did I do something wrong? I ordered the A5 English Cousin from the Hobonichi site and it was $33. When I looked on JetPens, the same item was $60. Even after paying for shipping, it was significantly cheaper from Hobonichi.
Hobonichi is ALWAYS cheaper! JetPens …. From what I can tell, wraps that hobonichi shipping charge into the price of the product. In my opinion you did the right thing by ordering from hobonichi! ❤️
I ordered from jet pens. And getting ready ready to place another order. Ok don’t freak out. Take a qtip and dap just a little bit into acetone and then rub it on the pen mark. I did that on my Gillis and it came out ❤️
I will actually be trying out the Hobonichi Techo Planner for the first time in 2024. I went with the A6 size because I will actually be using it as a daily journal and will be using the Weeks as my planner. 😊
I used the A6 this year and I really loved it. It was exactly what I needed. This year I will use the mega weeks. I couldn’t get into the A5, too much for me because of the daily pages. I like the English version. Also where did you get your Watch band?😊
I went to Lauren Phelps site after seeing your video because I needed a new cover and they were having a final sale for a couple of items. I think I'm going to get the A5 day free now seeing how I just ordered a cover for one not needing it for a specific planner. lol.

This is exactly where I see myself in a few weeks when my other planners launch. I had my 2024 line up all planned out. But after seeing what people are getting and hearing how other people are setting up there systems I'm having second thoughts 🙈😂
The black A6 is the English version and has a larger grid size than the original Japanese A6. 4mm vs 3.7mm respectively.
