I’ve come to realize that “planner peace” is giving myself permission and grace to planner hop to whichever one best serves me at any given season of my life.
i wish i could do that too. i just switched from a B6 common to an A5 cousin for my journaling/memory keeping, and that's helped, but still not at peace. my problem is i feel guilty if I don't use the ones I've been in. I already abandoned a Passion planner two weeks into the year b/c i realized real freaking quick that that wasn't for me. Loved the book, hated everything about the inside, lol. i have a weeks that i use for tracking and lists, and that's fine. two ECs for basically info dumping and to dos so that i know what to make pretty in my journal. and a HP for work. an A6 and a moleskin pocket that are just random thoughts/creative books. i don't really need anything else or have time for it. but the itch is still there to do pretty weekly and daily spreads for planning (instead of memory keeping). even though i'm bad at it, lol
I finally tried the Cousin this year and I have fallen in love. I see other planners and think I might like to try, and like everyone I love the EC paper but the Cousin does it all.
This was helpful. Planners that get me jazzed in January start to fade for me in April. And in April, July, September, and January I always get planner restlessness syndrome. (Not a clinical diagnosis 😊). I just did a planner sort and pros and cons thing yesterday. Very similar sweet spots and shortcomings conversation with myself. So this was good. Totally tracked with you. But the way, I am committed to Makse companion notebooks. The goal setting, reflections, and action plan tools are great, and having those in a stand alone and go along type smaller companion notebook is so helpful.
I know what you mean...I see the other planners and I buy them and try them but I always go back to my Cousin. It is everything in one and I love how creative I can be in the daily pages. Thanks for sharing. Now I know I am not the only one that does this! lol
I noticed the more I had to do, the less I was actually completing. I have a disc bound planner and I’m adding pages to help with my meal, budget, goals, work and life planning. This has been the longest I’ve had one single planner. I try to find videos and website with different planners but can’t justify it enough to change because I have so much versatility with this disc bound planner. Hope you all find what makes you whole 😊❤
The Home Alone reference just made me laugh so hard, friend status acheived! I have been in a planner slump for almost a year, nothing feels right, so I am glad to see I am not the only one. I love my stickers and everything but also now loving the simplicity if mildliners, lettering, and general writing. Argh, maybe I need to film a video for myself to talk it all out as well to try to get my planner groove back. Thanks for sharing your journey it helps keep me sane when I have these rough planner moments 💕
I so relate to all of this! I learned that I needed to stick with smaller everything so although I would like more space, I the Hobonichis are perfect for sitting on my desk (weeks/techo/weekly that fits in the techo) I also incorporated a good life planner for morning and evening reflections. When I wasnt using my planner, it was because I wasn't decorating. And on the weekends when I am doing nothing, I use it to track the things that makes me happy for self care activities that I don't want to sacrifice. This was helpful, Julie. I am not abnormal! Lol
Girl I’m right there with you re planner confusion. Sometimes it helps just to talk it out. 😂❤ but also sometimes it’s just fun to keep it interesting and planner hop!
I’m using the companion notebooks with the plum paper a5. It is my first year using both and love them! The big reason I love it is layout and the habit tracker on every week.
Burnout is REAL 😅 It’s pretty clear you need to pare back to your favorite for your personal use… Then use your Plum Paper and the others for creative planning content. ❤
OMG Girl! SAME!! I’m on my fourth planner this week! On the struggle bus n idk why! Weeks? A6? Travelers Notebook? and now back to my Cousin! Soooo incredibly frustrated!
I think changing planners is inevitable because there's just so many to choose from with so many different sizes and styles. I'm always changing in and out of planners too, but my constant is either a stalogy or hobonichi
I noticed the more I had to do, the less I was actually completing. I have a disc bound planner and I’m adding pages to help with my meal, budget, goals, work and life planning.
Ive been all over the place, but last year i would always come back to my weeks. I have a love hate relationship with the grid. I have the undated plum paper version and its gorgeous, but its vertical. Im definitely a horizontal girl. Glad were not alone in this mess.
I’m so with you on this ! I get thrilled trying a new planner or whole system. I wish I could stay in one planner all year but adding my extra planners and changing those out. I get upset with myself for changing it up way too much! Help!
This has been the longest I’ve had one single planner. I try to find videos and website with different planners but can’t justify it enough to change because I have so much versatility with this disc bound planner. Hope you all find what makes you whole 😊❤
I have been struggling with my planners this year as well. I thought I had a good system going into the year with a new planner I had found, but then a couple of weeks into the year I realized that it wasn't going to work at all, so I switched back to an Erin Condren Weekly but also was using a daily planner. And then I really missed having an A5 planner...I just keep buying new planners and maybe by 2025 I will figure out something that works for more than a few months at a time. OR I need to realize that I am going to be jumping between planners based on the different seasons I am in...and just accept that 🤦🏼♀ I'm a pretty functional planner with very few stickers, so the struggle is the same for the pen and paper gals🤣
I have been missing my planner, been a solid year without one and the only planner I ever used from front to back is Golden Coil! I really need to get one again cause I felt so good with it. Thanks for this video it was a great boost in the right direction ! ❤️
I’ve been a diehard rings girl for nearly a decade. I’ve tried coil but being a lefty ruled that out quickly. Recently decided I want to make my whole system more portable. I got a yuruliku A5 tool case, an A5 Sterling ink Half Year planner and already use the MäkseLife Companion Notebooks. Truly loving this combo as I can carry everything with me including washi, stickers and pens etc. Have you considered a Sterling Ink? Tried Yuruliku cases? They are a great compliment to delfonics utility pouches.
1. I'm so there with you on the Leuchtturm paper! I bought one, wrote on 2 pages, and that was enough to know we were not going to be friends. ;) 2. This was such a great video! I've had planner confusion this year too! I just went back to my Cousin April 1st haha!
I think I’m just going EC this year - a vertical and a daily duo. Vertical for just laying out what I need to do that week, then the daily for what I actually feel up to doing on that specific day.
For the first time I wanted a no color planner. I ordered the A5 compact in canvas and wildflower 7x9 Daily Duo. I have so many stickers and just need to use them up so I decided canvas it is.
I have no idea what I want to use starting in July. I really want a weekly and daily planner...but in one book. So I was looking at agendio since I can still get an hourly weekly layout and my daily pages. Or do I go with a Plum paper weekly and then my A5 daily duo from EC. OR the Maske undated daily. I have no idea what to do lol.
I love Leuchtturm notebooks, I also use fine point stationery. They do have 120gsm notebook( thicker paper) they released like a year or so ago. I suggest you try that one.
I literally just ordered my 4th planner version! I am not proud of it but really don’t care bc I could be spending my money in worse places. I am a visual person so I need to see the month and the week lay-out. I like being able to add pages to the disc planners. I create a lot of my own lists, to-do pages and such. Fun chat!
I have to give myself permission to use my planner in different way as my life goes through its changes. Sometimes stickers, artwork, journaling, photos or just lists. It is all okay.
Oh wow! The goal companion notebooks as an annual book would be amazing! But I do like their portability as quarterly sized... hmmmm. Planner life is rough! I like where you ended up! For now 😂
I don’t set up my monthly it is for future plans ( mostly appointments.) It isn’t pretty at all! I wasn’t going to order from EC at all this year but yeah! But I have so many stickers!!!! And then there’s all the crap I have from years of Happy Planner collecting! It’s actually gotten a little absurd! I honestly think it’s the planner version of Spring fever!
I’m not on RUclips and I have used every planner you mentioned except the little one. What I’ve realized is that I will always need something for work but my personal planning has fallen off and my weekly pages in my cousin are blank. My only problem with my Cousin is how thick it has gotten since I jumped in my 23 planner in November so my next one should be an Alec or day free. Happy planning.
Home Alone has been on a lot lately. Planner confusion over here 🙋🏿♀️. Especially with my work planner since im in the office, at home and travel 😮💨.
I have used everything from Happy Planner to Bullet Journal and traveler's notebook. But nothing seems to give me the peace that I need. I hopefully will be going back to work next month and need to get a planner that is easy to use and this seems like the one. Any suggestions about how to use it?
I’m in my CommonPlanner from SterlingInk since beginning of the year and adore it. It gives me everything I need in one book. Even got the undated A5 and I’m in that now for work. I don’t think a planner has to be cute. It’s supposed to be used and functional. You can add decor and make it colorful and fun but it doesn’t have to be perfect or pretty all the time and it’s still IG ready and doing it’s job.
I love this video so much. This is the kind of planner chat I’d have with my friends. I have fallen hard for my hobonichi cousin, which I can’t even believe I’m saying some days because I love EC paper. But the flexibility for it to be whatever I need it to be has been gold and somehow I’ve made it six whole months 😅😂. My wish would be a completely neutral HoCo with more plain grid notes pages instead of the structured pages in the back, and with more than one cover option. I don’t like bulky covers but man if could we get something, ANYTHING other than what I can only describe as semi gloss Manila folder… that’d be great 😂
You should check out the Sterling Ink Common Planner. I cannot deal with the colors in the HoCo so I gave the Common Planner a try and love love love it!! And I’m an EC paper girl too - I mean, it smells like a donut shop to boot!! :)
Curious why you don’t stay in the Cousin. Why you actually left it. It has all the things - monthly, weekly, daily. A place for habit tracking. Pages in the back you can cover with pritnables or plain paper to add more habit tracking. And it’s A5 and the makse companion notebook would fit with it in a cover and it would be all together and contained. Guess you might have the same conclusion 15:36 Couldn’t figure out why you left it to start with for planners or having to combine multiple planners to get to the same place.
While I do love it, it’s just too big and more than I need most days. Even when I journal, I don’t fill the page. And it just keeps getting heavier and heavier with use…..
@@JuliesPlans I’ve taken a photo of back to back pages in my Hemlock & Oak Bullet Journal and in my planner. I’ll send them to you through your Instagram account. I use stamps and ink, Tombows, Mildliners, zig dot markers…
The only way I have found to not planner hop is to stop buying planners, and it was difficult. The beauty of it has been that I'm happy and content to have spent $12.99 on my 2023-24 planner and I'll get every dollar out of it because it's what I will use.
I love that I’m not the only one sitting with a handful of planners around me just trying to figure out what I want to use. 🫣 My heart wants everything in one, my brain says but HOW.
I’ve come to realize that “planner peace” is giving myself permission and grace to planner hop to whichever one best serves me at any given season of my life.

I always always always go back to my Weeks! I’m in a Cousin and Weeks and really enjoying this duo 🥰
Me too! :)
Same!
How do you use both? I am currently using a Weeks and very interested in the Cousin.
me too :)
I’ve tried many different planners in years past but always settle on a Cousin & a Weeks - in my opinion they are THE BEST!
I know what you mean...I see the other planners and I buy them and try them but I always go back to my Cousin. It is everything in one and I love how creative I can be in the daily pages. Thanks for sharing. Now I know I am not the only one that does this! lol

Can you interchange the EC covet onto plum paper?

With the leuchtturm you have to buy the 120 gr -it’s very thick. The regular leuchtturm pages are really thin
I ended up getting a 7x9 daily duo in the canvas line. It stinks that they don’t offer it in the A5 size.
I just bought a Leuchtturm planner to throw in with my bullet journal and I like the paper, but I can't stand the thick ass paper anyway. 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah the archer and olive is like way too thick. I need something in between the 1917 and that

Maybe the Hobonichi Cousin Avec would work better for you. It's 2 half year books and it doesn't get too chonky even with lots of stickers.
There’s a Canvas A5 rings version, I just ordered the inserts 🎉
