Very interesting! I'm in France, had a nyckel for only 2 months, ," trying" to learn and to get used to the bow, I'm an accordéon person usually, but the nyckel is just what I need now, and I love Swedish folk music!
Greetings from Colombia!! I really love Nyckelharpa! Fell in love with it a while ago by watching Erik Rydvall's videos, but now I see there's a lot more for me to learn (so sad I can't really play any instrument, I'm only a music enthusiast, but I would love to be able to play this one!). Really appreciated this documentary to know more about the history, culture, craft and musicianship that goes behind this beautiful instrument.
I bought a nyckelharpa a few months ago and when I examined later on I found these initials: Sture Eriksson. The lady I bought the instrument from, bought the instrument from a wellknown folk musician called Leif Alpsjö. Does anyone know or have heard of this man called Sture Eriksson???
he was a pretty famous builder of the instrument throughout the last decades of the 20th century and the early 2000s. He died in 2020 in his home town of Eskilstuna, 76 years old. Seems like Leif Alpsjö helped him sell many instruments, he sold them by mail order in the 1990s.

Magnifique panorama d'un instrument hors du commun présenté avec brio , merci !
What a great video! I had never heard of this instrument until recently. Now I can't ever forget it!

Ruskigt snyggt gjord film!
I would love to get my hands on some Nyckelharpa plans so I can start building here in Canada
Could you please tell me where to buy Nyckelharpa? Thanks!
And probably to the horror of purists, there is the nerdyharpa kit which, with care, can produce a playable instrument for a bit over €300.
