Just because they had shops doesn’t mean the average citizen was able to shop in them or that they weren’t oppressed in some other way. They needed street sweepers and traffic lights. That’s for sure. What I mean by oppressed is that the people there can’t do as they please, they have to act and do as Hamas pleases. They aren’t free to say whatever they want like we are in America etc. Just because the rich people can afford to shop in this district, doesn’t mean they live in a free and normal society. They live under a dictatorship at best.

Israel gave Gaza to the Palestinian Arabs. Gaza was taken from Egypt as a war prize after the 1967 six-day war. 150,000 Gazans left every day to go to work in Israel. Israel provided Gaza with their water and electricity. I think Israel has been more than generous to these medieval people, certainly more generous than the Muslim countries in the Mideast who want nothing to do with Palestinians.

If you don't see checkpoints it's because you are in the center of Gaza and obviously there is no Israeli presence. Just because you don't see a thing you have no right to point out how the Palestinians are living at the moment, there are also international lawyers who admit it, there are sources like Amnesty who say that Palestine is an open-air prison and you come waching a 26 minute video and feel entitled to say whether Palestinians are oppressed or not?!

I wonder why Egypt, a fellow Muslim country, also has checkpoints for Gaza and doesn’t like Gazans to enter? Oh yeah. The violence. The Gazans are suffering the consequences of their own decisions. Maybe this latest war will motivate them to quit electing terrorists and quit turning to violence to solve political problems, especially those of their own making.

BTW open air prison does not need to be dirty and ugly. Let me give you an example what it is : to leave gaza, you need special permit granted from Israel, even this is weird, imagine you wanna leave USA but must ask Putin in Moskva if you are allowed. However sometimes, they grant the permission, event tho it is reeeeeeeeally complicated. If you have foreign passport, it is not easy to get in, but you can get out, pretty much ok. But if you are Palestinian, who was granted permission to leave once, got somewhere foreign passport, you might not be able to travel back, or if you get in you might not be able to leave. This is really complicated for split families, that may never reunite (leaving out current situation:(...). Israel also controls grounds (hundreds checkpoints complicating daily live even comute to school or work), it also controls air and waters. So if you are fisherman, you are not not be able to fish furhter than 1 mile from shore, because you might get shoot by Israeli solgiers. And many more, this is just from top of my head (also there is a massive control over water/power supply which is also not ok)
What sunnes me, that gaza was destroyed like 5 times in last few years, and they have always been able to get back on their feet and have decent looking city to live in, even under such a terrible oppression

It’s unbelievably sad. But remember’they’ (the regular civilians) didn’t throw it all away. Hamas a terrorist group did. They would have known that their acts on Israel wouldn’t just simply be dismissed and yet they went ahead anyway- knowing full well that Israel would retaliate and ‘their’ people (as well as the Israelis) would suffer. They are pure evil.

Arafat was a terrorist and not very popular with his "brothers", quite the opposite. He needed a success to seem important. And that was Camp David. But it was all just lip service, none of which was implemented. Nothing went further with that... I would prefer Trump and Netanyahu

Open air prison is just part of their propaganda package. That and saying they are occupied, just lies. Too many people believe it because people love to believe people are oppressed so they can throw a rally to support them. The people who are oppressed are the Israelis. They are literally bombed by the Gazans to the extent that they need an iron shield to protect them, safe rooms in every house, and an app warning them when the bombs are coming in. That sounds like oppression to me more than the fact that most Gazans aren’t allowed in Israel, which is normal border security.

Is the People walking in the middle of the middle of the road, they are in more danger of getting run over by those top of the Range Cars, than any Israelis..We have all been lied to by the Media. Those Palestinians certainly don't look suppressed By anyone from Israel. The Hamas Terrorists who the Palestinians voted for are their Problem. They will all know this by now..

This doesn't looks like occupied territory. Some chaos and disorder in the traffic, but overall is ok. Means they did lie about Israel's oppressions and occupation etc. So the bombings and military operations in the city brought it to exact state as palestinians wanted to show.

They want pity money from the world. This is a money scam. Hamas gives bounty for each live hostage, and each released live hostage results in another huge bounty to the family that harboured the hostage. That’s why they referred to the hostages as ‘guests.’ The entire population is complicit and fully aware.

    We are algerians
We always support Palestine because we went through the same hard times.
We suffered from the oppressors that hide their truth from the world for lots of years.
They used to slaughter the babies after getting them out of their mothers bellies.
We were resisting then failing but keep coming back.
We have that special date as 7 October for Palestine and it's 1 November.
Our group of freedom fighters were called terrorists too
They didn't win the war the first year, nor the second or third year.
But after 8 years we successed because Allah is with us.
    Allah is indeed with Palestine.
Same story, it's just that Palestine's story didn't end yet.
