Owned a 2010 4S and currently own a 2013 Turbo. A FVD Brombacher tune Is the best bang for the $$. 590 hp & 575 ft/lbs. I personally never had ongoing check engine for either car.
That's the tune I'm looking to get as well, here in the next couple of months. I think my final mod list includes fvd tune, air filter, x-pipe, and the IPD intake. I'll call it a day after that. I'm hoping to be over 600hp crank with those mods.
@@swandonovan Cool, my ALH TDI has a Malone tune but I don't see where they offer a Panamera Turbo tune on the Tunezilla catalog. Just recently sold the Porsche for a 2023 Tesla Model 3 Performance. Took advantage of the EV state rebate and IRS tax credit to make it make sense. Got tired of the expensive Porsche parts and shortages. My rear spoiler ($3500) broke deploying when frozen and they were on backorder. Front air struts are also hard to get ahold of and are currently $1700 per side, rebuilt, on FCP Euro
I have The exact same car and I love It! I only drI've It twIce a week so I haven't had any maIntenance issues. I did do an oil change on it and i paid $150 for mine. I refuse to go to the dealership as well because they wanted almost $600 which is crazy. Ive been trying to figure out how to keep my car low so i think i figured it out after watching your video. Mine always raise up when i drive and lowers when I parkit. Finally, this car is sexy as hell and i love the unconventional look. Its hella fast and handles really well.
Great video. I have a 2010 970 Turbo with 119,000 miles. I replaced the front air springs at 80k and the coolant vent pipe at 100k. Over the summer the rear hatch glass cracked from the heat. It drives like new and I can’t part with it because it is a fantastic car. I am not a fan of the rear side view but the performance and driving experience makes up for it.
@Phollero may I ask, how's reliability brother, I'm on market for one, what's your current mileage and any issues since you own it till this day ? Many thanks !
Yep - in German make cars TPMS fall into two categories: A) Replace with the correct frequency and just drive or start the sync process from the dash. and B) Dealer will have to use a manufacturer's scan tool to perform the re-learn process. there's a third type with VW (proper not VW group) products where there's actually no TPMS sensors in the wheels at all but yet it'll alert on an underinflated tire. Asian and most domestic brands can be swapped out if the right type of TPMS sensor is used and a fairly "generic" scan tool is used (like an Autel Mini). These cars are (IMO) very underappreciated but then again so were early to mid 90's 911's, and front engine models and so on. 30 years seems to do wonders for Porsche - although I don't believe that 970's will ever reach their original MSRP (certainly adjusted for inflation). My wife likes these - I'm an "odd ball" who really could take it or leave it though I do really like the shooting brake / estate versions - that's right up my alley. Thank you for sharing your cool car!
I’ve owned this car since 2014. My 970 turbo came with the famous yellow carbon BBK. Definitely get your PDK serviced before it becomes a 16k issue in the future.
Hey bro.. I'll be real with you. I have a love hate relationship with this car.. I do love it. But being it's 2011 and 12 years old. I do see things that pop up that need to be replaced, not because it's straight up broke but because it's older and the wear and tear are getting the best of it. I have 92k miles. Motor and engine run great. But since I've owned it I've replaced the bushing for the wishbone joint in the front suspension. I believe it was cam shaft sensor.. I'm needing to soon replace my front air suspension. Not that it's a bad car, just needs more TLC because of it's age. Knock on wood no serious issues, with tune and bolt ons car is running strong... Just sux that because I'm replacing little things here and there, Porsche isn't cheap to repair no matter the issue. Knowing what I know would I buy this car again...without hesitation yes. Despite the little things that pop up that need to be replaced. This car has been great and wouldnt trade her in for the world. Hope this helps ya.
@@octaneoutdoors3252 Yea so I’m also totally ok with such expenses which are totally understandable, I would mind for the more serious things. So thanks for positive feedback ! My budget is around 25K euro so I think I can find something good, saw one with 215K km with service history, what’s your opinion on it, dealer sells it for like 20K ?
Love my 2012 Turbo, insltalled the FVD Bombacher tune a few years ago, really woke up the car IMO. Just had ceramic coating as well, I think this will be my last black car..
Hi Loved the video and the information since I am actually looking into buying a 2013 one I just got a bit concerned now with the maintenance costs and was wondering if you would be willing to share costs you had to incurred in to keep it up? Mainly because it is a car of at or around 100k miles Like you , love it all in and out Thanks for any help!
@@sergiosam7596 ok so I've looked ... So no mods just what I've done to get things where I feel comfortable.. in the last year in half I've got (new brake pads & rotors, transmission service, front sway bar bushings and control arms replaced (because I was getting knocking when going over bumps), new tires all 4 (Michelin pilot sports), valve gasket replacement (because I had a small leak when I got it) ..cam shaft adjuster solenoids, spark plugs, oil separator,... Andddd power steering pump replaced (because it was going out and making a whiny noise). I believe that's all I can remember and find. Annnnd I still have a cel that comes on and off every now and then because I apparently have a small evap leak , so it will come on about 200 miles and turn off for 500 before coming back on again....but the car still runs strong with no issues with it. Have literally been told not to worry about it if the car is running strong. Car hates cold weather and I pray my air suspension doesn't go out because those aren't cheap to replace either. So in about a year in a half, I've spent (give or take a couple hundred)...I feel comfortable saying about $9000.... Oil changes gonna run you at least 380 depending on where you go, tires are 315 per tire (not including labor), brakes and rotors were around 3800, I can't find the power steering pump receipt but I know that wasn't cheap either. Long story short, I love the car, I really really do. She's a beautiful powerful car but if it needs maintenance, find a good shop that isn't an arm and a leg because it will be expensive to maintain. Hope that helps.
@@sergiosam7596so at this point I feel comfortable modifying the engine to make it faster and I shouldn't need any more maintenance, crossing fingers. Hopefully a tune and bolt ons will be in the near future.
Awesome overview man, I'm looking at a 2012-2014 4S or GTS depending on which one has what I want and the price is reasonable. Aside from the the routine maintenance have you had any additional issues with the 970 Turbo S?
I appreciate it! So I have the Turbo not the Turbo S, turbo S has the same motor but with 550hp stock and mine is 500hp. And full transparency other than routine maintenance I haven't had any complaints. However buying a 2011, and a car that's 12 years old, I feel like EVERYTHING becomes routine maintenance. All the parts are 12 years old and the things I'm replacing it's "just time". For example this month I had my power steering pump replaced and got new brakes and rotors... And bam 6k outta pocket. So it's not like the car is a "bad car" it's just old and needs a little tlc from time to time. It's just expensive to give it that 🤦😫 .
Not if you have it set to stay up at all times like mine. If it's set on automatic, then yes anytime under I believe 65-70 mph it goes back in, and therefore will be tucked away when you park and turn off the car. Aside from keeping it up because I think it looks better, I also keep it up because if that motor ever breaks or burns out it's freaking expensive to replace 😂, so if it's gonna go out on me.. I want It to go out while the spoiler is still up.
Such an underrated car, have surprised and made everyone a believer that have drove the Panamera Turbo. It has such a small fanbase. I think they look beautiful and unique, somewhat odd that it’s hard to capture on pics and videos 🤷🏻♂️
The Cayenne also got tons of shade initially....look at it now... even w/a cheaper Macan version now. 1 man's Beauty Queen is another's Ugly Duckling. Beautiful Panamera!
I truly believe this will be one of their most collectible models!
Thanks for the post!

Button below ride stiffness is to raise the car for coming in or out of steep driveways or speed bumps. Will only stay raised until 20mph.
