I think meant " if you have a car with an ignition you shouldn't use the ring" It will prevent your key from going inside the ignition causing it to false start the car which can give you problems. If you have a newer car with push to start, by all means your car will be fine :)

i don’t know at this point. i’ve heard from both sides that it hurts the car. what i heard was that it messes up the connection from your key fob to the push to start! idk if this is true but that’s just what i’ve heard!
