I really enjoy your videos. My favorite push mower is a Lawnboy 21" with a magnesium deck from the 1980s. It has offset wheels making turns easier and better edging. It will also bag grass perfectly. I have had mine since 1985. What you do is find a Lawnboy mower for its deck. Then you place a briggs and stratton engine on it. Now you have the best push mower in the world with little cost that will last a lifetime. I would send you a picture of mine, but I don't know how to do that. Good luck and keep up the great videos.
Man that would make a cool video series. I may have to look into doing that! Thanks for leaving a comment and watching the videos. Hit that thumbs up if you haven’t already!
I took off on my new bad boy elite last time when I went to mow….turns out one of my caster tires were flat in the front I wasn’t paying attention and it made me drop off a bank doing that I believe I must have thrown my deck out of adjustment….thanks for the DIY video I’m gonna check mine when I get home
Looks like you made all sides of deck same height. But I just bought a Maverick Hd and my owners manual says front of deck should be 1/4 lower than back of deck. 🤷🏼♂️
After watching your video, I worked on my own deck and found out that my linkage has slipped at the top instead of the bottom, which is attached to the deck. My dial showed 3 inches but I was cutting 2 inches adjusted the top linkage which brought the deck up back to 3 inchesthank you for your video. It helps solve my problem.
Like the other guy said, check your service manual. My bad boy is supposed to be 1/4 inch higher in the rear of the deck than the front. Gauge your deck height off the front, then raise the rear by 1/4" is what mine said to do.
I may not know what I'm talking about but aren't the blades spinning on machined precision spindles so with good blades and spindles shouldn't the blades be the same distance from the bottom of the deck? Seems like you could just measure from a flat surface to the bottom of the deck at all 4 corners and set those to specs.
You probably could and be just fine. I just don’t know what tolerances they hold when building the deck itself, and I don’t know what the runout is corner to corner. It’s probably close enough, but I just wanted to double check.
This deck linkage system on Bad Boys needs some work. I can see these loosening and moving over time. Needs fine tuning ability especially on mowers costing $8000 plus. Great mowers for money and no mowers are perfect.
I try to keep mine clean by blowing or hosing it off after every cut, and scraping the underside after every few cuts. Make sure to get and wet clumps of grass off of it before you put it away.

Watched it one time. Did job on my mower. Turned out great. Thanks.
Good deal! Glad it was helpful!

Also I used a car jack to hurry process up helped a lot and I can confirm that was my issue ! Thanks so much brother
Glad you got it going again!

thats is correct, the frt. is always to be a bit lower, some manufacturers say 1/2 inch
Thanks for the heads up. I’ll have to go back and make that adjustment.
That is so it doesn't blow dust up through the front and blast your face. With that little tilt it shoots the dust out towards the back
I've made that mistake myself before and on a dry summer day, it sucks balls getting dirt and dust in your face all day 😅

Do you ever adjust the deck belt tension on deck? If so do you have a video? Seems my belt keeps getting loose and deck belt not as tight as should be

Where?
You said that dial for the deck.
When you first started?
I’m talking about the knob used to adjust the deck height.

Thank you. I went back and corrected it.

What? No1/4" Deck pitch?
I went back after the video and fixed that mistake. Another commenter let me know I missed it. Good catch!
South Mississippi check in! how are you liking the bad boy maverick? im debating the zt elite for my 3 acres just north of hattiesburg.
I’m still loving it.
I’m going to be your next video’s sponsor.

I have only had it come out of adjustment once since 2019 and I’m pretty rough on it. I do agree though, some finer adjustability would be nice.
Thanks for your experience. Helps me with my decision.
Why does everyone's deck always look less rusty and more clean than mine?? LoL

Why they make it so difficult to level other movers you jst turn a screw here turn one their and its level. Smdh
This is the only deck I’ve ever tried to level. Doesn’t seem too difficult.
