The reason the heater control valve is restricted on Max AC is because on Max you want only cold air. The other settings allow you to add heat to control the temperature so it's not too cold.

@@ProblemSolverGarage Hi had a question, why does it get so HOT in the car if the vehicle runs for any time longer than a short drive? It's like there is no way to stop the heat from getting into the car from the engine at all. It just seems to transfer seemlessly into the cabin.

Thank you for this very good video. I have a 1970 Pontiac Firebird F 400 and I have problems with my heater. Sometimes and most often it only blows cool air and very rarely hot. After seeing your video, I checked the part you are referring to and indeed it is not waterproof. So I bought a new one. After receiving the new part, I blew into it and unfortunately it was also leaking. I installed it on the heater control but still the same problem. The seller tells me that it is normal for it to leak. Do you think my problem really comes from this part?

Great video. When you talk about the door that diverts air to the vents mine opens and closes all the way but when on bi level it barely moves from full vent direction. Should it open half way?

Another great video but my only problem was why would you "have" to drill hole to mount the Heater Control Valve when the car originally came equipped with it? There should already be holes for it.

Interesting but I do not understand at 9:10 one needs to modify the existing vacuum system to add a T. Why not simply replacing the vacuum pipes one by one? In other words, where was the original vacuum supply pipe going? Thanks
