- Meet my new scaleless corn snake, and watch as i set up his tub from start to finish. Still don’t have a name for him so if you have any suggestions leave them in the comments!!
He is a Male scaleless Okeetee Животные
Great budget setup. I'll be trying this out too
Nice video man! I'm a big fan of those Sterilite "Gasket" models. Especially for my sub-adult corn snakes. The 37qt model with six latches makes a great secure, and easy to clean enclosure.
Yes! Definitely became one of my favourite bins too. Very secure and cheaply priced.
when you do ever breed them I would love to to buy one of them they would be so cute
Can you make a video of what you use for your heat source ?
For sure, No problem!
OH-KUH-TEE 🙂
When you get your corn snake what’s should be the size of the tub for a baby. Then how do you tell when to move him to a bigger tub for each size/age
you could start your baby corn snake out in a 10 gallon equivalent sized tub.
the dimensions would be 20L x 10W x 12H (these measurements are in inches). If you cant find a tub with those exact dimensions you could always go a little bigger with no problem.
as for when to upgrade, youll notice that once your snake reaches a certain size they wont have much to do in their enclosure and you wont be able to fit enough decor/ waterbowl/ hides & have enough room for your snake to move around
another way to know when its time to upgrade is when your snake is as long as the length and width of your tub (ex when your snake stretches out and can touch one corner of the tub to the other sides corner)
Hello! Could you tell me size of the enclosures from babies to adults? I heard that babies should be housed in 10 gallon but they grow it out super quickly, but since I never had a snake, I dont know how frequent I should change the bin in it's growth stages.
Hey, of course i can help! For babies I like to start them out in typical “shoe box size” storage containers. These are around 12quarts, with dimensions around 16inch L by 12inch W. Height doesnt matter so much, but as a minimum 6inch Height.
Now as they grow out of the baby enclosure, i always upgrade them straight to adult sized tubs. Once they are sub adults and past the baby stage there is no worry about an enclosure being too big.
So, for the final adult bin size, i like to use pretty much the biggest bins i can find, with still little height. Around 41quarts, The dimensions of the adult bin are 36 inch Lenght by 17 width by 6inch height.
These measurements are just guides, dont worry if you cannot find an exact match. A little bigger is always okay.
@@ThatsSoReptii thank you! :)
I have a new scale less corn.so I noticed you don't have lighting so it's not a must is it.and what temperature do you have your heat mat or tape at
How many holes should you polk whats the rt amount
What size tub do you use for an adult
How’s it shedding?
I’m the first person to comment and like wow
dang iwanted to be first lmao
What’s a good rule of thumb to tell what sized air hole is too big for babies?? I’m worried one will escape
A good rule of thumb is to just make the air holes tiny and add extra air holes to compensate for the smaller size. You could use your pinky as a guide. The ventilation holes should be much smaller than your pinky finger for a baby snake
Is it safe to use a heat pad with this?
Yes the plastic will not melt if you use a thermostat with the heat pad. Set it to max 30°c and the plastic will be just fine
How do you maintain your soldering pen mine gets so gross
once im done using it (in my case i use it to melt plastic), i hold it upsidedown while the power is still on. This allows excess plastic to melt and drip right off of the soldering pen.
Hol up ... You get that from snakes at sunset 🤔🤔🤔 I just seen that snake on the site
Nooo im not familiar with sunset breeders. I will have to check them out
@@ThatsSoReptii oh lol that picture you put up was basically the exact picture I saw lol. But snakes at sunset are amazing, they're based out of miami and will do overnight shipping with a massive variety (not right now cause of time of year and everything is sold out, but we'll start to see more clutches and babies by june/July)
@@wheelsx1823 Miami! Im in Canada so ive definitely never heard of them, nor do I think I can order from them because of distance/ the whole cross border live reptile thing lol
Do you not need a heating lamp
It all depends on how warm/ cold your room gets, but if your able to maintain steady temps with just a heat pad than you do not need a heat lamp 😊. Around 28-32 °C
also I got a corn snake!!!!
(edit) she is a miamiphase corn snake she is still a baby aswell
i love miami phases their colours are amazing 👌🏼
What size is your tub please?
